Edit from future self: Hello hi yes i have two things to say before you read this.
1. Please do not spam with comments and votes, save my notifications and sanity
2. Please dont look at my old stuff it makes me cringe, all my older art is outdated...
Before everyone loses their minds about me having depression or this being a vent, it actually started as just a doodle and sorta went its own way. I didnt intend it to come out as depressing originally but i did learn a lot about mood and tone of art instead of my usual happier tone of art.

I guess she's drowning or something? Idk. Its up to interpretation.
Im actually proud of this. While drawing it i learned a lot about lighting and shading. Plus i feel like i managed to actually make it look like it was underwater by darkening the clothing and desaturating the colors of her fur to better match the background color palette.
I managed to make the lighting look like it was coming from one point by having darker shading colors in larger blockier areas and the lighting a more opaque color. I also cut off the light beams in the background to make it look like crystel was casting a shadow from the light.
Theres also a few subtle gradients in the lineart and color but theyre harder to see. They just make up a little effect of lighting and color palette.
Yep. Not much else to say, but im proud of this and i kinda like drawing something different, something that isnt just bright pastel and happy or just edgy. I like to draw different things since it helps me improve my art as a whole.
