Chapter 122: A Surprised Assault

Once I made the Tracking Device, I called the maids and we went back to the abandoned building. 

When we did, my tracking device started to work. It was making a beeping sound and it started to get faster and louder. 

"Hmm, this means we're in the right place," I muttered to myself.

I transferred the spirits' energy signatures in the device to see if it would pick up and it clearly did. I then started to follow the beeping noise. 

Hmm? That's odd. 

The device seems to be telling me that we're extremely close to the spirits but I don't see them. I thought I had to go all over the place to find them.

Don't tell me . . .

"Guys, try tracking the spirits," I told the maids. 

"Understood."

The maids then started to track the spirits' energy and they all took action.

"Karma, they're here!" Elizabeth told me.

"What?!"  

Just when I was told this, something almost attacked me. I managed to dodge it and got to the maids. 

When I saw who the attacker was, I realized what's going on. There were three girls.

One of them was a blue-haired woman in her twenties. The other one was a light brown-haired woman, also in her twenties. 

Then, the last one was a little girl about the same age as Iris. She also had green hair.

These three must be the spirits.

"So, you're the one that took down our sister, correct?" The blue-haired woman asked me. 

"I am. She was attacking the villagers and I couldn't just idly stand by." I told her.

"I apologize for our sister's behavior. However, this doesn't give you the right to just kidnap her." She told me.

"I was trying to save Scarlett, the person who your sister was possessing and made her life a living hell." 

"The Vessel has nothing to do with this." 

This little . . .

"This has everything to do with this!" I barked at the water spirit.

She was shocked and stood there, motionless.

"I really don't give a damn about your sister. I only care about the person who's forced to go through your sister's life. Scarlett is now known as a criminal that kills whoever she likes because she enjoys it but it's your sister that likes to burn things. Because of that, Scarlett's life was turned upside down. Infernus even killed her parents!"

I couldn't contain myself and spouted out all my frustration at them.

"You dare!" 

The earth spirit was about to do something but the water spirit stopped her.

"This doesn't matter to us. For us to walk in this plane of existence, we need a host. The vessel's circumstances are just . . . Collateral damage." 

Every word coming out of this bitch's mouth is pissing me off.

"So, you don't care what happens to the people around you? You just want to do what you want, when you want?" I asked.

"That's correct. Your lives mean nothing to us. All of you are but insects to us."
