Summary: Everyone is born with a necklace with a charm on the end of it, the charm is half of a shape, unique to only you and your soulmate who has the other half, you begin to feel like you'll never find your soulmate until a friend's birthday party leads you to meet one of the most important people you'll ever meet.
The necklace sat in the box, you stared at it, cursing your luck. Everyone had been born with a necklace, half of a shape dangled at the end of it, everyone's shape was unique whether it was unique in colour or unique in shape, no two people had the same shape except for your soulmate. You'd been born with an emerald green heart, a boring, ordinary heart, "So many people have hearts but none of then are the right shade of green, I'll never find my soulmate at this point" you thought, even the voice in your head sounded slightly upset at the way things were. You longed to find your soulmate, it's all you really wanted but it was proving impossible. You wondered if any of your friends had found their soulmate yet, you were so down on yourself that you figured they must have. No matter how down you were feeling you still had to go to your best friend's birthday party as you'd promised her you'd be there. You flung the necklace over your head in annoyance and walked out the door.
You arrived at your friend's house. She immediately ran out of her front door and pulled you into a hug, "Come in!" She exclaimed, "There's someone I want you to meet!" She grabbed your hand and ran into the house. She dragged you into the kitchen where a few people had gathered but not too many as you were early for the party, she stopped and looked around the room for a second, "There he is there!" She told you, excitedly as she pointed at a tall boy around your age with blond hair, he was pretty cute, you had to admit. "Chenle!" She shouted across the room, "Come here!" He made his way toward you both and as he got closer you suddenly felt the necklace hidden beneath your t-shirt get warmer, every step he took the necklace got warmer, not enough to burn you but warmer. "He can't be..." You thought, but surely enough as he finally reached you two your necklace was warmer than ever. "This is the girl I was talking about" your friend said to him, taking you out of your trance, "Hi, I'm Chenle" he spoke, shaking your hand, "I'm Y/N, it's lovely to meet you" you replied, unable to control the smile on your face, "It's lovely meeting you too but can I just ask you a quick question?" He asked, letting go of your hand, "Ask away!" You answered, "Is yours warm too?" He asked, pulling his necklace out from underneath the hoodie he was wearing, you looked at the charm dangling from his necklace, an emerald green heart, "Yes.." You replied, timidly, showing him your necklace. "You're really my soulmate!" He exclaimed in a loud excited voice, "I guess so" you laughed, he hugged you and although you'd just met him the hug felt oddly warm and familiar, his hug felt like coming home. "Let's do this then" you said, breaking out of the hug, "Let's do it!" He agreed, you both took the charms on the end of your necklaces and lined them up to create a whole shape, an emerald green heart you'd been longing to see whole your entire life, the heart glowed brightly enough to shine onto Chenle's face making his face a light green colour, your friend who was still standing next to you was in awe as you both took away your charms to reveal the charm had been completed on each of your necklaces. "Oh my god! You just found your soulmate!" Your friend pretty much screamed pulling you into another tight hug, "I know" you laughed, still in shock over what had just happened. "Can I take you on a date, maybe tomorrow?" Chenle asked as you broke the hug, "Of course!" You replied, you both exchanged numbers and spent most of the party just talking and getting to know each other.
After the party was over you basically ran home to show your parents your completed charm. Immediately after you got home you called your mum and dad into the living room, you caught your breath before taking off your necklace and handing it to your mum who just gasped and handed it to your dad, "This is great!" She exclaimed followed by your dad basically saying the same thing, "When can we meet him?" She asked, "I don't know, we'll figure it out but here's a picture I took with him" you said, showing her a selfie you and Chenle had taken to commemorate the event, "Aww you both look so cute together!" Your mum cooed, your face turning a bright pink at the compliment.
You went upstairs to your room and placed the necklace back in its box, thinking back on just earlier that day when the same exact necklace that had made you the happiest girl in the world made you feel depressed and like you'd never find your soulmate, you had worried for nothing and started an amazing relationship that would last for the rest of your life.
