"i love you to the summer and back—it's not the winter, but you've frozen my heart and got me warmin' up my liver. i would never put a knife in your back—the love I give her is kinda creepy, but fuck it, she orders and i deliver. i could never leave you alone, my little mama is mad at me at the moment—know she's such a a prima-donna. wherever you are is my home, you know i mean it. they say home is where the heart is, you're the reason mine is beatin'"
_____________

Of fucking course it had to be Benjamin. Just my luck, honestly. Or rather; his luck has just gotten worse.

There's uncertainty as to what exactly was going through his head at that moment. Did he know that was Peep's truck? Did he know I was in the back?

And even now, what is he going to say when he wakes up? It would be absolutely idiotic for him to think snitching Davey out for nearly killing him when he was committing a crime himself would be a good idea, but then again he isn't exactly the king of good ideas.

Maybe he had assumed none of us would figure out who he is, and that he wouldn't have been caught. Which, was totally the wrong assumption to make, obviously.

"Evelyn, we should just go. What's the point in waiting here until he wakes up? You don't even know the guy." Davey spoke up. The only other sounds in the room were the beeping of a heart monitor and muffled voices coming from the TV.

"I do know who he is. So does Gus." I crossed my arms, sighing.

"What the fuck? Who is he then?"

"His name is Benjamin. His grandma works for my parents catering quite often when they do their events and what not," The explanation didn't exactly satisfy my cousin. "And he's like, helping out his grandma I suppose. I believe he said she had cancer or something, and doing shady shit is really the only way he knows how to get money."

"So that gives him the right to go around attempting to steal peoples shit? Out of anyone I would expect you to be the one chewing someone out for helping a criminal."

He's right. When I was a kid, I thought I was totally holier than thou, high and mighty, that I was better than everyone—but that was until I made my first real mistake and was begging practically anyone to give me another chance. I would never put anyone through that kind of pain, and although Benjamin is still a complete asshole in my mind; I don't think he deserves to die or to be beaten up more than once every couple of weeks for that.

Plus, I'm not exactly on the right side of the law anymore, so who am I to judge? The only reason I'm bothered by it now is because it's personal, and he seems to be affecting quite a few aspects of my life lately.
