Would you rather be blind and only hear your soulmate, or be deaf and only see them? For you, you didn't have a choice. You were born deaf, but you could talk normally and read people's lips easily, so communication wasn't a problem.

Your best friend was the only one who understood you completely, though. She looked after you when your parents went on business trips or had to work late, since you couldn't be alone in the house. The two of you bonded over books and dreams of what your soulmates would be like.

Everyone had their unique way of finding their soulmates; a name, a tattoo, a clock. But your friend and you had none of those things; for her, it was a smell. She found out about a week ago when she walked passed a boy and was immediately calmed down by just his scent. She hadn't seen him since, though.

But neither of you knew how you could find your soulmate. "(Y/N), what about color? Do you see in black and white?" she asked after tapping you. You sighed and shook your head, rolling over on your bed to stare at your record collection. For a deaf girl, you absolutely loved music; you would place your hand over the speakers just to feel the steady bass.

Your friend sighed and gave up on the whole soulmate-talk and decided to play some music from your surround-sound speakers that his throughout your room. It was by someone called Agust D; someone you didn't know because you didn't like rap. Still, you leaned against the wall to feel the vibrations of the bass, and when he started to rap, your heart stopped.

You could hear him.

Tears welled up in your eyes as you covered your mouth and nose, a gasp leaving your lips. Agust D's voice was deep and rough, yet you thought it was so beautiful and soft in its own way. So this was what it was like to hear something.

"(Y/N), what's wrong? Why are you crying?" your friend asked as she made you look up at her. Her face was the definition of worry as she held your face in her hands. "I...I can hear him... I can hear him!" you cried out and she wrapped you up in a hug as you started to cry even harder. You could actually hear him, which meant... Your friend smiled as it finally hit the both of you. "(F/N), he's my soulmate."

The rest of the night was spent looking up Agust D, who was actually named Min Yoongi. He went by the stage name Suga in his group BTS; a Korean pop group who had won many awards and even performed on the AMAs. He even won a Producer's Award and a Daesang with BTS, which was sort of a huge deal. You went through photos of him, too. He was far from unsightly; he was probably the most attractive man you had ever seen in your entire life.

How could someone as successful as him be your soulmate? He lived fourteen hours away in Korea, while you lived on the East Coast of the United States. You were a deaf sophomore in college who was working on her degree to become a poet. Since you were deaf, you had to do all the courses online and that was why you lived at home. But it still made you wonder what Fate was thinking when it decided to pair you up with Min Yoongi.

"I found an e-mail address! It's Bang PD's, though, so we might not get a reply," your friend said as she formulated an e-mail to send to Yoongi, explaining the situation. You nodded and watched as she typed everything out, reading over it for grammar and other words they could use to sound more formal. "Use my e-mail. Just so that I can be the first to get news back. No offense," you giggled at the end, which made your friend giggle as she nodded and pressed 'send'. "Now, we wait."

About two months later, there was a knock on your door at seven in the morning. Bang PD had answered your e-mail, but explained that there were girls who claimed to be the boys' soulmates all the time and didn't believe you. You were absolutely crushed, but not surprised by this fact. Of course that would happen; they were super stars, for crying out loud.

The knocking went unnoticed by you, until you felt the house vibrate from the force of the knocking. You sighed and grumpily made your way downstairs and to the front door, yanking it open angrily.

"Can't a girl just try to-" You cut yourself off mid-sentence as you gazed at the people in front of you. It was just Namjoon and... "H-hi. I'm Min Yoongi." His English wasn't too good, but you could tell Namjoon had been helping a lot. It looked like he had just gotten off the plane; black hoodie over his head, black face mask pulled down to reveal his small smile as he shyly looked at you.

The tears welled up in your eyes the longer you stared at him; you will never get used to hearing such a sweet voice - the only voice you will ever hear. You smiled and gave a light bow to Namjoon, who smiled and waved at you. He knew this was really important for you and Yoongi. "Hi, I just wanted to drop Yoongi off. He'll text me later," he said awkwardly. You nodded and gestured for Yoongi to come in.

"So, you're my soulmate..." he said quietly once the two of you were in the kitchen. You were sitting by the coffee machine, brewing the both of you some coffee. Yoongi stood across from you, leaning against the sink as he stared at you.

To him, you were the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on. Your unruly, dyed-black hair was in a messy bun on the top of your head, silver-rimmed spectacles almost taking up the majority of your face. Even though you were bare-faced and had just woken up, he loved how your natural skin glowed in the kitchen light. You were soft, but strong, your eyes were a nice brown. You looked adorable in your Beatles tank-top and Yellow Submarine shorts and he smiled slightly at you.

You nodded and looked down at your hands, a small frown on your face. "I've been deaf since I was born and... The first thing I hear is your voice. Yoongi, you have no clue how happy and excited and scared and insecure I am right now," you mumbled. He sighed and moved closer to you, eyes gazing deeply into yours as he slipped your hands in his.

He was warm and rough, but it was just right. Everything about Yoongi felt right. His eyes shone with genuine concern, as well as something you couldn't describe. "Listen, (Y/N). I really don't know how you feel. But I knew that as soon as I saw your picture, I just knew you were mine. It was like something fell into place the moment I saw it, like the missing piece of a puzzle. And it was exciting and scary, too. But we'll figure this out, alright?" he whispered as his face neared yours, lips brushing together.

"Yoongi, I know we don't truly know each other, but I love you. Every time I hear your voice, look at your videos and photos... It's like I've known you for years and I can't help but love you," you whimpered and he immediately wrapped you up in a hug.

Sobs echoed through the kitchen as you cried into his neck, arms wound tightly around his neck. Yoongi's arms were around your waist, keeping you close and shielding you from the world the best he could. He shushed you and whispered sweet nothings in Korean, knowing you probably either didn't understand or barely understood him. Still, just his voice in your ear calmed you down quickly.

"I know, honey. I love you, too."

With those few words, you knew everything would be okay.
