My love for MCSM runs deep. It's become my creative lifeblood, in a way. Most of my art/story ideas stem from MCSM, and I'm more active in this fandom than probably any other.
Story Mode was a 'rebound fandom' for me. The last book in the How To Train Your Dragon series came out in early November 2015, and after I read it...I didn't know what to do with myself. HTTYD had fueled my life for several years, and now that it was over, I had no idea where to turn next. I needed a new fandom, something that could give me the same feels and happiness that the HTTYD series did.
And I found MCSM. I wasn't initially very interested in it, but the first time I played episode one, I was hooked. I had already passed the Point of No Return. I immediately fell in love with the story and characters, and by the time I finished episode four, I was beyond obsessed. Somewhere after episode 5, I got more active on the internet, started writing and then later on, drawing.
I'm having trouble describing how much this game means to me. It's certainly not the best game in the universe, but I love it. Flaws, plot holes, feels, irritating characters; I love it all. No matter how much it makes me want to cry or throw something, it's still one of the most important aspects of my life.
I've gone through some shit in this fandom. I've been picked on a bit, mainly for being a Luktra shipper, for writing fanfiction, or even for just being in the fandom at all. But I don't even care, because this game is worth it. I don't care if 'Minecraft is for kids' or 'luktra can't sail!1!' or 'WHEN THE FUCK IS EPISODE FOUR'; the feels and happiness this game has brought me is worth all of it.
Thank you, Telltale, for giving me something to write about, to learn from, to cry and scream and obsess over, to make references to, to always want more of, to find friends from, to love.
Thank you for the game that changed my life. 💙

• I decided to do their s1 designs because I really miss the 'good days' of episodes 1-4. s2 has taken on a very different feeling, and while I still love it, I liked that s1 was more lighthearted.
Plus, their s1 designs are easier for me to draw haha
