TMNT Soulmate AU! Michelangelo x Reader

Mikey has always been pretty curious about his timer.

Ever since he was little and Master Splinter had explained the little piece of metal to him, he's always wondered about his "soulmate".

Never out loud of course, his brothers hated to talk about the whole soulmate situation. He understood that. But one his own, in Mikey's mind...he did wonder about "them".

What they might look like, what hobbies they enjoyed, what movies they liked to watch, thier likes and dislikes. All about them really. But mostly, Mikey wondered what thier relationship might be like. There could be so many kinds.

A mentor-student one, best friends maybe...or lovers. To be honest, he always liked the last one the most.

The idea of meeting "the one" and just feeling all that love all in one moment. He imagined kissing and cuddling and laughing and loving with that person...he loved that. He dreamed about it.

So one sleepless night, when he casually glanced down at the neon numbers, he saw what he had been waiting for. Seven days until the day.

Michelangelo had grown used to the little black box, he had barely noticed how fast the days had gone by (hey, he's a busy turtle). But suddenly, so suddenly, he had only that week to wait for his dream come true!

He had accidentally woken up his brothers with his excited squealing and jumping and then, the turtle's couldn't avoid talking about it anymore. They had to prepare for what to do.

And while his brothers talked about what if's and possible plans, Mikey sat with a dreamy look in his eyes as he thought about what he might say to them.

But now? Now there was no time for any thinking.

She was waiting down there and Mikey had already lept off the roof, landing below in the shadows. Heart pounding, excitement pumping through his veins. He didn't speak, just looked at her.

She was so pretty, prettier then he could have ever imagined. He noticed the plush turtle keychain on her bag and gave a little laugh. The sound made her smile (and, man, did that smile steal his heart) and she spoke.

"I'm...I'm Y/N. You?"

"Michelangelo. But you can just call me Mikey."

As he spoke, Mikey slowly stepped out of the shadows, watching her reaction as more of him was revealed. Surprise, obviously, but...not fear. Or disgust. Not anything that some other humans had shown him before.

"I'd waited so long to finally meet you." she said.

"And...it's okay? I'm okay?" he asked, eyeing her carefully.

"Of course you are!"

He didn't feel so shy anymore and he came closer, taking her hands in his.

"I was so scared that you'd be scared! But you're not and you're here and, man, I had this whole thing in mind of what I was gonna say. But I forgot and I don't even care! This is amazing! You're amazing! You're my soulmate!"

He was doing that thing, that excited, rambling thing he did sometimes with his hands waving around but Y/N, she simply laughed.

Mikey loved that sound, that adorable little laugh. And he just kept talking excitedly about everything.

About his brothers (who were waiting on the roof and probably laughing too) and his dad (who would have to meet her because, duh) and his home (which down below and super awesome) and his friends (April was going to be stoked) and everything! And all the while, Y/N was smiling so sweetly at him.

And Michelangelo suddenly had the feeling that his future was very, very bright.
