We lay comfortably inside the cave. I gaze out the entrance and scan the forest carefully.
I hear paw steps behind me and Snow lays beside me, snuggling up to me for warmth.
“You did a brave thing today..., something I wouldn't have the guts to do if you hadn't of encouraged me to do something so death defying...” Snow whispers
I smile at her. “I believe some of us just need a rude awakening to see we have the strength to do anything... ” I say
Snow nods. “That's very true Shadow...”
I wag my tail at her praise.
“Shadow...” she begins nervously. “I have something to tell you...”
My ears perk up with interest. “Yes Snow?”
She swallows. “Well..., ever since we met..., I've always had this interest in you..., and after seeing you protect us from literally any and everything, I guess I've..., um..., well...”
“Snow,” I start.
She looks up.
“Will you be my mate...?” I finish
She wags her tail a little and flattens her ears against her head.
I have a really good feeling about this.
“Of course!” she cries out
I snicker as she hugs me, wagging her tail so much it shakes her whole body, shaking me also while she hugs me.
She shuffles closer and slithers her head under my neck.
I start to groom her fluffy white neck, she literally purrs herself to sleep.
