We finally made our way deep into the forest. We stop by a lake to catch our breath.
“That was SO fun!” Snow exclaims
I sigh, feeling very unsure.
Snow cocks her head. “What's wrong Shadow...?”
I look back in the direction we came, I lay on the damp ground by a thick tree.
Snow lays beside me, panting.
“That didn't really feel like we were hiding..., it's in the riddle...”
Snow looks down. “Yeah we did..., we had to hide from that silver car...”
“On coincidence, if that silver car hadn't pulled up, we wouldn't of HAD to hide...” I state
She rests her head on her paws. “Well..., I think you're in the right place...”
I sigh again, still not sure. A weird feeling in my gut told me something wasn't right.
“I'm going to go find something to eat..., I'll just be up the lake, howl if you can't find me...” Snow whispers.
I nod, not really concentrating, too busy trying to figure out why I was feeling so odd.“If I didn't know any better I'd say you like little miss Snow...” came a voice I've yet to familiarize myself with.
I turn to see Death, perching on a low branch of the tree I lean against.
“What makes you say that?” I ask curiously
He smirks and raises a brow. “Shadow..., I've been around for THOUSANDS of years..., I know what love is..., and I can see in your eyes, even if you haven't yet figured it out..., that you have feelings for her...”
“I don't think so...” I say flatly
“I didn't ask for your opinion... ” he snickers. “Your feelings for her aren't strong, in fact they're very weak. SO weak..., that you wouldn't have recognised the feelings, even if you had felt it numerous times... ”
I roll my eyes. Then I remember the highway. “So..., am I in the right place...?”
He nods. “Yes..., you're in the right place. Stop doubting yourself! It's not as hard as you're expecting it to be..., this is the mistake SO many people make! You over think it! It's a challenge, yes..., but it's not a test, not an exam, nothing you need to pressure yourself to figure out..., trust me...”
I nod slowly. “I believe you...”Death jumps down from the tree and stands before me, arms crossed over his chest.
“Alright..., ready for the next riddle...?” he smiles
I nod. “Definitely.”
