I won't lie to you, I know he's just not right for you.

Everyday he sees the same girl. He sees the same hurt in her eyes, yet she doesn't want to admit. Her boyfriends a snob, a dick, an abuser. He told her many times to do the deee and break up with him, he's afraid of her getting hurt.

And you can tell me if I'm off but I see it on your face, when you say he's the one that you want.

She says she's fine, but he doesn't agree. He sees the pain and sorrow in her, the bruises on her body, and the tears in the corner of her eyes. She tries to keep a straight smile on her face, but she's not fooling him.

And you're spending all your time in this wrong situation and anytime you want it to stop

Ethan, was his name. His best friend, y/n was his lover. Or his crush, whichever you pick, they were the same to him. They've been best friends ever since 1st grade, when they were partnered up for a project. The school had a backyard FULL of flowers.

Y/n was picking a bouquet of flowers to take him to her sick grandma, when she heard a voice saying,

"What are you doing?" The voice came from a curious young boy. Y/n was shocked, turning to find the boy she worked with.

"I'm picking flowers for my grandma. She's really sick and I want to make her feel better." She responded sweetly.

"Are dandelions her favorite?" He asked tying his hand together.

"No, hers are white Carnations."

"Why white?" He asked looking around the fields.

"Cause white Carnations symbolize good luck. And we need luck, in order for her to feel- better." She sniffled.

"Aw, don't cry y/n. Everything's gonna be okay." Ethan said walking closer to her and patting her back. She cried into his shoulder, which sent him into shock.

Remember those times, when the thought of boys and girls working together and hugging was considered "icky" to kids? To Ethan, that thought changed.

They pulled away, as Ethan reached down, grabbing a purple orchid. He handed it to y/n, managing a sympathetic smile.

"Give this to your grandma. From me, to your family." He said. She gently added it to her pile, a little confused.

"Isn't purple-"

"Considered a girl color? That's what everyone says. But purples my favorite color. And I don't care what people say." Y/n smiled at Ethan's response.

"You're not like the other boys. Which I like." She said.

He blushed, his hands tied behind his back,  jumping on his tippy toes and returning to the ground.

"Will you be my friend?" She asked. His eyes grew wide.

"Really?! No ones ever said that to me or my twin brother Grayson. Yes!" She giggled, Ethan also smiling.
