        This can't be happening, I can't be dead?!

      "You need to relax, Connor." Allison said then I turned my head slightly to see that there was an image where I had walked from. It was Derek holding my lifeless body.

        "I refuse to die like this." I growled.

        "Will you just listen for a second!?" Cameron yelled at me and I flashed my alpha eyes.

        "What in the hell is going on?" I growled.

        "You are dead, but this was the only way I could tell you everything. It was the only way I could show you the truth Connor. I couldn't rest knowing that you didn't know." Cameron said.

        "Know what?"

        "I didn't never imagined how you'd react to any of what I am about to tell you. When I taught you everything I knew including the secret pillar and how to make your blade I forgot something. I forgot who you really are and who you would become if you died. I forgot to tell you that once you  prove yourself as an alpha, you must die and awaken into your true form."

        "When I awake, will I still be me?"

        "You'll be different in ways, but you'll still be Derek's mate, you'll still be Nattalia and the twins' mother. Congrats by the way."

        "I'm happy to see you, but I really want to wake up now."

        "I'm not done. The werewolf I killed when we were hunting the kanima. He was going to tell you something."

     "It was about Derek wasn't it?"

        Not just Derek. You and Derek have been mates since you were first created. Whenever he died you chose to die or wait for him to be reborn. Somewhere along the line Derek's soul traveled down a dark path and when he nearly died his subconscious made a decision to redeem himself and to do that he had to protect you. He is your guardian, Connor."

        "I don't understand how this is relevant."

        "Well, it means that he must die to protect you if it ever comes down to it and you must let him. Or you can die with him and then throw everything off balance again. You have a heart of gold, but sometimes that heart of yours has gotten you into trouble. My sister is alive Connor and if she finds out who you are it won't be good."

        "Kate is alive? That isn't- that stupid son of a bitch." I growled. "Peter turned her by accident. What an idiot."

        "You have to kill her. She'll throw everything off balance and she is a reminder as to what you are really supposed to be doing, where you come from."

        "Kill the bad werewolves, so she is like us?"

        "Worse, far far worse Connor. I'd almost go lengths to say that she's close to you in strength and power. Tell Nattalia and your boys I said hi." I hugged Cameron and before I could face Allison he looked me in the eye. "Can I ask one thing of you?"

        "Yeah?"

        "Kiss me?" I placed a gentle kiss on Cameron's lips and he smiled. "Thank you."

        "Did they find out?" Allison asked me and I nodded.

        "They killed the nogitsune and the oni."
