Chapter 7:

Derek's POV:

Scott showed me the tear stained piece of paper and I felt so many emotions; I was angry, hurt, and just lost without her, but there was nothing I could do other than focus on building my pack.

"This is all your fault," Stiles laughed.

"My fault!? You two were too busy worrying about those meaningless teenage crushes! I did my best and like always my best is never enough," I growled.

"I bet you were hoping Connor would be your first pack member, huh? What's your plan now that Connor isn't around to take the fall for you?!" Scott growled at me.

I lunged at him and threw him into a wall.

"I love her, Scott!! She is my mate!! I'd do anything to get her back but you don't want me to try because you know that I made her happy when you two idiots were just destroying her!" I let him go and he and Stiles left.

I spent weeks searching for her, but I had to stop because I needed to rebuild my pack. So I turned Boyd, Erica, and Isaac. I had tried to turn Jackson the night I became the alpha but for some reason he wasn't changing. I've been hearing about a fierce new hunter in the Argent's rank; she was beautiful and lured in most of her victims then when she got them naked she'd slit their throats with a silver blade laced with wolfsbane and mistletoe that she had made herself. She was the most feared of all the hunters and some say she is the youngest. She only hunted the one's guilty of killing humans; probably the only hunter to strictly follow the code.

I was training my pack when I felt it; the pull between Connor and I. She was close! I immediately left and went to search for her. I spent hours in the woods waiting for her. I heard rustling then several arrows came flying towards me and I saw two figures approaching me. One was male and the other female. The male prepared to kill me, but the girl touched him and spoke.

"Not him, Cameron." She sounded so much like my Connor.

I glanced up at her and it was her, only she seemed older and dangerous.

        "But he's a werewolf."

"An innocent one, Cameron. Besides, if you kill him then you kill me. This is Derek Hale."

"Connor?" I groaned and she leaned down and ripped the bullets out of my shoulder and thigh.

"Hey," she smiled and my heart clenched. I wonder if she knows how badly I missed her?

        "You you're the black widow?"

"Well, I wouldn't say that. I'm merely doing my job." She helped me up and I could see the guy was really agitated.

"Connor, we have to go!" the man pressed.

"You go, I have to help him." I heard the man groan and he left us alone.

She followed me to my hide out and laid me down. She pulled out a needle and took her leather jacket off and tied a rubber band around her arm and drew out some blood.

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"While I was away I met someone and they gave me a book. I know that we are mates, Derek. I also know the quickest way to help you heal and the second quickest. My blood will kill the virus inside you."
