Draco's POV -
A gentle crinkle echoes around the room as I take the object wrapped in thick brown paper in my palm, my fingers shaking as though I can feel the dark magic radiating through the material.
What lurks inside the package is much more dangerous than most would assume.
A necklace, and a fine one at that. Green as the waves of a pacific sea at twilight, and glowing as the moon itself would.
It has one objective, and that is to kill Albus Dumbledore, and nothing less.
The darkness coursing through me makes it seem as though I am holding a repulsive insect, and I can't wait to fling it from my hand.
The Dark Lord has suggested using the cursed necklace as a delivery device to curse Dumbledore and hopefully kill him, as it seems the Vanishing Cabinet isn't quite working out for me at the moment.
As much as I don't want to, I have to do what he says. And as much as I despise him, he is my leader.
When I glance down at my watch, it's 10 to 12:00. The Hogsmeade trip will be commencing in less than 20 minutes, and I need to get a move on so I can get this over with.

Jennifer's POV -
Although I can see Josefina's lips forming words beside me, I can't seem to focus on what she's actually saying.
All that's on my mind is Draco, and what he said to me last night.
"Things are going to be different soon."
What the hell is that supposed to mean? All I know is that it can't be anything good-natured, and it must have to do with his task, which is not a good mix.
More importantly, he looked physically exhausted, and even more mentally exhausted. I don't know what this task involves, but it's draining his health quickly, an idea that makes my stomach knot up.
"Earth to Jen." Josefina interrupts my thoughts, a certain twinge of annoyance lingering in her voice.
It takes me a few seconds to gain my focus and push Draco and all of his business to the back of my mind for the time being. "Hm?" Is the only noise that emerges from my closed lips when I'm finally able to make one at all.
Josefina sighs; I know she can tell something is wrong, and I need to start covering it up better, because I really can't tell them what's the matter this time. "I said aren't you freezing out here?"
I look down at my arms, which are only concealed by a thin sweater. "Yes, actually." I say in surprise. I hadn't noticed the chill whipping around me until she'd mentioned it.
"I sure as hell am." Josefina shivers, although she's wearing a jacket and a thick, emerald green scarf draped across her neck.
"Hm, what was that I heard?" A raspy voice calls from behind her, and we all turn our heads slightly to see who it belongs to.
I should have known.
Derek comes sauntering out of nowhere, almost as if he was listening into our conversation and waiting for the perfect moment to intrude.
