Jennifer's POV -

I burst through a large wall of dancers, my heart pounding in my chest. I can still hear the stranger pursuing me from behind, and all I can focus on is getting away from him.

I swerve around couples on the dance floor as fast as my legs will carry me. I pause momentarily and look around, my eyes scanning the room. Then, I spot the stairs, and dash for them.

The stranger's heavy footsteps are pounding up the steps behind me, rattling the staircase. I try to think of something, anything, to run to.

Where can I possibly go? I have to get away from this guy, and I don't even know where I am.

A hazy thought of recognition crosses my mind, and I realize that I must be somewhere in the boys' dormitories. As I am scrambling up the stairs, an idea strikes me.

Of course!

I take a quick left and sprint down the hall to the only place I know in this damned area.

The guy behind me stumbles, giving me a few seconds to reach the door that I am looking for. My heart is still racing in my chest.

"Draco!" I pound my fists on the door. I would gladly take his snide remarks over this drunk idiot any day. "Draco! Please open the door!" I yell desperately. The looming presence of the stranger behind me is growing closer, his heavy footfalls growing louder.

I am beginning to lose hope when the door flies open. Draco is standing behind it, still holding the doorknob, a concerned look on his face.

"Please, can I come in, there's a guy chasing me-" I plead breathlessly, looking over my shoulder.

"Get inside." Draco says immediately, taking me by the waist and pulling me into his dorm.

He glances down the hall one more time. I catch a flash of the dark look he throws at the stranger, who stops in his tracks, turns around, and stumbles away.

Draco closes the door behind him gently. He turns to face me.

"I'm sorry if I woke you up." I say, looking down at my feet. I thumb through the charms on my bracelet nervously.

"It's fine." He breathes, and runs a hand through his hair. "Are you okay? What happened?"

"I-I think so. He just started following me up from the party downstairs." I stammer. "Do you know him?"

His features darken. "Yeah. I do." A very tense silence falls between us. Draco crosses the room and sits on his bed.

"Did he touch you?" He asks carefully. I look down at the floor, attempting to hide the red blotches on my cheeks.

"No. But he tried to." I don't want to think about what that guy would've done to me if Draco didn't open the door. It reminds me of...

Startled, I find that pools of tears have begun to gather in my eyes, and I attempt to blink them back.

"Come here, Jennifer." Draco says softly. I don't miss the note of urgency in his voice. I cautiously cross the room and sit next to him on his bed.
