Lucy's POV
I stared at the SM cards that Lami gave me. I really should start going to the gym but I don't want the others to see me there. Maybe I should just go early in the morning before school...

I woke up at 5am and quietly slipped out of the house in some sports clothes, with my uniform in my bag so I could get changed later.

I walked to SM and cautiously looked around before using the card to get inside. Since I had only ever gone to the practise rooms before, it took me a while to find the gym, but luckily I found it after a few minutes.

I stared at the large equipment in front of me. I had no idea how to use any of it but I guess you have to start learning at some point. After plugging my earphones in, I carefully stepped onto the treadmill and randomly pushed the buttons until it started to move.

I had probably been running for about an hour when I started to feel dizzy. I didn't know how to switch off the machine. I couldn't feel my legs or arms anymore. My eyes wouldn't focus.

Then everything went black...

At School
Hina's POV
"Hey what's up guys?" Donghyuck asked cheerfully as he walked into our music class.

"The ceiling ahahahaha." Jaemin laughed as if he had just told the best joke in the world. I rolled my eyes, "Seriously, that's such an old joke." I complained. He shook his head, "I believe it's called classic."

A few minutes later, the teacher walked into the classroom.

"Wait where's Lucy?" Renjun whispered to me as he pointed to the empty chair next to him.

I shrugged, "She might be off sick." I said, thinking that it was the only logical reason for her absence.

"Are you sure? She doesn't seem like the type of person to miss school." Jaemin commented.

I nodded, "That's also true, I'll call her after the lesson."

As soon as we got out of the classroom, I pulled out my phone and called Lucy.

"Hello?"
"Hey Lucy, where-"
"-Sorry I can't take your call at the moment, please leave a message after the beep."

I sighed, why isn't she answering? Is her phone turned off? What if she's in trouble?

I turned to the others for help. "What do you mean she's missing?" Jeno asked confused.

"She hasn't turned up to school, she won't answer our phone calls or texts and we even called her parents, who said that she wasn't at home either!" I explained trying to stay calm.

"Oh my god, what if she's been kidnapped?" Mark asked suddenly. "Yah, don't say stuff like that, it's very unlikely." Koeun argued, but I could tell she looked worried too.

"Let's stay calm everyone, we're her friends remember? We should know where she could be." Renjun said.

Chenle agreed, "Renjun's right. We need to split up and look in different areas."

As a group, we made a list of all the places that Lucy usually goes to. School, her house, the cafe, the music shop and the library. We divided the areas up between us and during lunch we all went out to search for her.

Half an hour passed and there was no luck. Lucy wasn't anywhere to be seen.

I told everyone to meet back at SM on our group chat. Once we all arrived, we just stared at each other, unsure about what to do next.

"Is there any chance that she could be in this building?" Yeri asked curiously.

I shook my head, "She doesn't have an entrance card and I don't think the receptionists know her."

"Err actually... I might have given her my card..." Lami confessed shyly.

We all turned to look at her, "What? Why?" I asked confused.

"I thought since she's a good friend of ours and she comes here quite often, it might be useful for her to have it..." Lami mumbled.

"Then why didn't you tell us sooner? We've just searched the whole town for her and she could have been in here all along!" Koeun exclaimed.

"Hey it's not Lami's fault, she was just trying to be helpful." Jisung said standing up for her.

"Anyway let's not argue about it now, everyone go look around the building." Mark said as he stood up.

I was walking around with Lami when we came across the gym. "She wouldn't be in here, would she?" I asked curiously. After all, Lucy always told me how much she hated exercise.

Lami thought about it for a bit before saying, "Ah I remember now! Lucy unnie was asking me about the gym and that's why I gave her the cards!"

I nodded, "Okay let's look inside then."

I let out another sigh, "She's not in here either... Where on earth could she be?" I muttered to myself.

Eventually we all met up again on the ground floor. "Anything?" I asked. They all shook their heads.

"Maybe she went back to school?" Herin suggested. "Yeah I guess we could look there again, besides we're going to get into trouble with manager oppa if he finds out we skipped school." I said.

Finally the school day ended but Lucy still hadn't shown up.

Suddenly Yeri received a phone call, "What? Okay I'll tell them." She said making us look up curiously.

"Erm that was Irene unnie... She just said that we have to go to SM because someone's looking for us..." Yeri told us.

"Who's looking for us?" Mark asked confused.

Yeri shrugged, "She never mentioned a name but she said it was urgent..."

Who do you want the mysterious person from SM to be?? I was thinking of an EXO member (probably Chanyeol) but since it's an NCT fanfic, would you prefer it to be one of the 127 hyungs? 🤔
