Why Jasper should've stayed alive

Hey Kittens.

I'm not trying to tell the writers who they should kill off.

Oh who am I kidding, I am.

Kill Echo please!

No but seriously I've been holding this off since Jasper died and although I wrote a farewell goodbye to my precious child...I need to say this because I haven't exactly talked about it and this is something everyone should be talking about.

PTSD

What does PTSD stand for? post-traumatic stress disorder.

Lets talk a little about Jasper Journey.

Okay. So we all know Jasper wasn't the only character who had it hard, duh. It's the hundred and everyone is in pain and suffering. Now of course the ark wasn't all chocolates and Roses. Monty and Jasper got sent to the skybox for stealing some drugs and Monty forgot to replace what they used to which Monty apologized like a hundred times. So that's how they got arrested and was on the Dropship when they landed.

Less then a year by being on the ground, Jasper got speared by a grounder. Now this kicks into the PTSD. Jasper tagged along with Finn, Clarke, Octavia and Monty to go to mount weather to get the supplies they need because they were dropped on the wrong side. Unfortunately none of them got to there destination because when Jasper crossed the river, his friends witnessed a spear being thrown across and into his chest where he later was being dragged by someone and hung up as bate for his friends to fall into the traps they made. So that wasn't a great start, not to anyone especially not to Jasper.

That's where the PTSD hits. PTSD means post-traumatic stress disorder to which Jasper has. So when he got to camp he was definitely fighting the effects of his traumatic spearing incident. But later on, He overcame that when Octavia went missing and he went out to find her.

I guess right there is when he started to have PTSD!

Guys let's also not forget the fact that the person who threw the spear was none other then a grounder.

Now, during out the season, he didn't have a pleasant time on the ground.

He was drugged by the nuts. since he relives at least part of his experience with the Grounders who abducted him, that caused a little traumatizing for him.

Let's also not forget the part where Murphy kidnapped him. Also another not pleasant time during the ground. Although he was there just for a little bit because Bellamy took his place, he was still at gunpoint which is pretty terrifying if I have to say.

Also when Jasper had just a little hope, thinking that Mount weather was like a safe haven for him, it all shattered once Maya showed him the harvest chamber, he ends up being afraid because of his people. He thought they would be next. So everything he thought was coming back to normal, it all shattered right in front of his face.

When Monty was taken, he lost a little bit of his mind and takes his fight to Dante. Dante didn't know what was happening so they go to Dr. Tsing's and find out her plan and he find Monty just in time but the damage was already done and Jasper spirit was gone.

So once he rescued Monty, Jasper thought they were all leaving, he stepped up and encourage and inspired everyone and they were ready to fight and escape but when Clarke shows up, everything escalates and resulting in the final straw for Jasper’s sanity.

Now, the most important part.

Maya. Maya was like Jasper safe haven. Jasper was so confident in saving her even if they killed the mountain men, he was so sure that she was going to survive so when Clarke pulled the level, Inradiating the whole level, including Maya that's when Jasper last piece of insanity was officially gone.

Which comes back to PTSD. In season 3 Jasper is a drunk, he's been drinking his sorrow. Life on the ground has finally gotten to him. Everything Skaikru have recovered from the Mountain reminds him of Maya and the limited time he had with her. Which goes back to PTSD, Not everyone with PTSD has been through a dangerous event. Some experiences, like the sudden or loved one unexpected death can also cause PTSD.

So even though Monty has been trying to get him to stop drinking and taking him out to help Bellamy and raven, Jasper expressioned his emotional instability. He doesn't have a care in the world for his own life.  Jasper has definitely hit rock bottom.

Now, This season, you clearly see him not getting any better and with him just giving up and not fighting no more to survive, he gets a group of people who also wants to stop fighting and they all decide to do die.

Leaving Jasper the chance to die.

Now, why I think Jasper shouldn't have died?

Jasper had PTSD which was a disorder so when he died...(I've noticed not many cared...?) Everyone thought he was annoying and they wanted him to die! Um excuse me? Jasper was sick and he needed some help. Watching Jasper just give up and do suicide is not something you want your viewers to see, I'm pretty sure everyone who has PTSD (including me. I'm not going to get into detail but yes, I've had a traumatizing past) and I felt hurt! Like you didn't have to kill him, Monty was helping him and it just felt/looked like you didn't put such thoughts into Jasper story ending. It could've been a recovery story.

RIP JASPER JORDAN.
