I absolutely love progressive rock. I have no shame in admitting this. There has been a serious lack of prog talk on my page for a while, and I am going to remedy this. This was supposed to be a ranking of prog bands, and somewhere along the line that failed, so here you go. The list of prog bands that I love that I haven't the heart to rank. If you like the band, please tell me! (If you are interested in a recommendation I can absolutely give you one😉)

1. Pink Floyd

Of all prog bands, definitely the most approachable

Of all prog bands, definitely the most approachable. However, the sheer number of concept albums makes them undeniably proggy.

2. Procol Harum

This band is mostly known for tracks like "Whiter Shade of Pale," but I can assure you they are so much more

This band is mostly known for tracks like "Whiter Shade of Pale," but I can assure you they are so much more. An excellent mix of blues, classical, and jazz

3. King Crimson

As I have recently learned, King Crimson was definitely the benchmark of all prog bands

As I have recently learned, King Crimson was definitely the benchmark of all prog bands. In a sense they were the first, or maybe that honor goes to another band, depending on whose story you're hearing. Nevertheless essential.

4. Jethro Tull
