You Know You are a Fan When.....

-Somehow you relate to the screaming Beatle fan girls in the above picture, and you would give anything to be them.
-You somehow manage to interject classic rock into every conversation.

Le real conversation with my mom:
Mom: I hope that lady doesn't mind that we're a little late, I said we'd be there in ten minutes, it's been ten minutes.
Me: It's not like she's "Counting Out Time" (Genesis song) or anything. (I say this whilst wearing my Lamb Lies Down On Broadway t-shirt and having Peter Gabriel as the background picture on my phone.)
Mom: You have a problem
Me: I know

Tell me you if you guys have been in a similar situation!

-This picture makes sense to you:

-All your friends are aware of your obsession.
-If someone were to walk into your room, they would instantly be made aware of said obsession via posters, photos, etc.
-Your life goals include getting to see at least one classic rock band in your lifetime.
-You own a fair amount of band tees

My wardrobe: Lily?
Me: Yes?
My Wardrobe: Did you seriously just put another band tee in here?
Me: Yes.
My Wardrobe:
Me:
My Wardrobe: You have a problem
Me: I know.
(Just so we're clear, I don't actually talk to my wardrobe🤓)

-You can also relate to this:

Person on the news: So, such and such classic rocker did a thing....
Me: Omg! He/She did a thing! *Major feels attack
Person: You have a problem
Me: I know...

-You are willing to defend your favorite band/artist to the death.

Dumb Person: Omg! Lily, like no one likes the Who! They are so dumb and old and no one likes them!
Me: I dare you to repeat that.
DP: Uh, yay Who!
Me: I thought so....

Or even worse...

Even dumber person: I'm quite certain no one cared when David Bowie died that wasn't, like, fifty.
Me:*Represses violent thoughts
Me: May I introduce to a little thing called the classic rock fandom!!
EDP: Yeah but they are all stupid!
Me: I'm in it! And I dare you to call my fandom stupid again!
EDP: Yay, David Bowie! *tear

-You have lots of conversations with the older generations about music.
-You have acquired a title in your family like "the family hippie" or "that kid who was born in the wrong generation."
-You look at a good portion of what is on the radio and cry.
-However, you know what you like and you like what you know (Genesis lyrics), and you wouldn't change a thing about your music taste.
