For the kind and ever patient Devil_Flash, thank you for being so sweet!
Your lungs burned and your legs ached as you ran, the ground beneath your feet cracking, crumbling, and shaking. Vulcan was your home and it was being destroyed.
You were beamed down from your ship the USS Artisan to try to save your father. Very few knew you were Vulcan, but that changed the moment you saw the pillar of light strike your home planet.
You called out to him, hoping he was home instead of roaming the fruit fields like he usually did. Your heart raced, almost painfully as you searched every nook and cranny of your home.
"PAPA!!" You called, tears streaming down your face.
You hiccuped and let out a sob as you stumbled away from your home, fumbling for your communicator. You were about to call back for your ship to beam you back when you heard your name over the rumbling of the crumbling planet.
"(Y/n)?!"
You spun around, almost falling as you spotted your father leaning against the outside wall of your home. A hand held a visibly bleeding wound on his arm. You rushed forward, taking him into your arms.
"You came for me." His voice was frail but his eyes held strength.
"Of course, papa."
You held him to you as you called for the Artisan to beam you both back. But you were met with nothing but the haunting sounds of a broken connection. Tweaking the distance modulator, you tried again, but to no avail.
You had a feeling they would leave you. The captain and first officer almost seemed glad to have sent you back, but you didn't think them cruel enough to leave you to parish with your people. You glanced at your father, his breathing ragged and his face turning a horrid shade of green.
"Hold on, papa," you pleaded with him, shifting his weight on you so the two of you could walk a distance from your house that was starting to crumble.
You dialed and changed a few things on your comms unit circuit board and tried again, this time calling for any ship that was orbiting what was left of your planet.
"This is Lieutenant Commander (Y/L/n), I am seeking a vessel to aid in transporting my father and I off of Vulcan. Please, I am not certain-"
But before you could finish your sentence, the dying planet around you was soon replaced with the inside of a ship. The next few moments were a blur, almost like you were watching it all happen. Medical personnel rushed over and gently took your father from your arms, the both of you being taken to sickbay. You watched with glassy eyes as a burly doctor checked over your father, giving him a sedative. He moved to you, snapping in front of your eyes to grab your attention.
You blinked then shook your head. "Forgive me. Is he alright?" you asked tentatively.
The man nodded, moving hair from your face to make sure you weren't injured. "He will be fine. He's resting. Do you know where you are?"
You blinked again, looking around. "I don't believe I do. I take it you are part of the federation."
He nodded again, waving various medical tools over you. "The name isDoctor McCoy. Welcome to the Enterprise."
Your ears perked up and you were filled with newfound energy. "The Starship Enterprise. Do you have a Commander Spock aboard?"
The doctor let out a scoff. "Sure do. I thought he was the only Vulcan enlisted in Starfleet."
