"Commander, I have to disagree with you. The time it takes for us to reach that system does not fall under the time limit in which the warp core will overheat. I suggest we try to find another system to find repairs, least we should find ourselves stranded in the middle of suspended space." Spock cocked his head to the side, looking down at you as you huffed and crossed your arms.
"Well, you may have a "scientific" reason to not do this, but I have a rational and physical reason as to why we should." You fling your arms around you to show off the engine room. "Scotty assures me that we can "stretch her a wee bit more" if we redirect some of those power couplings from the sleeping quarters and the observation decks to the power couplings here." Now it was your turn to look at Spock skeptically.
Raising your eyebrow and popping a hip caused Spock to look away temporarily should he lose his composer and kiss you right then and there. The Vulcan has been experiencing sudden emotional and romantic feelings when around you. He has yet to pinpoint the exact moment when it started, but for now, he just has to work really hard to not act on them in fear of driving you away. You are known for being ruthless to men who have mistreated you in the past. Kirk being one of them. Spock suppressed a shiver as he remembered your reaction to seeing him being your captain when assigned to The Enterprise.
"Hello, Enterprise to Spock."
Spock blinked, being drawn by your voice and waving hand as you tried to get his attention to the situation at hand. You looked up at your pointy eared friend but shrugged. He has always been one to zone out around you. Apparently, you are not interesting enough.
"Excuse me, my mind wandered elsewhere." Spock looked at you, your stunning (e/c) eyes shining up at him. "If you believe that Commander Scotty is correct, then I believe you." He kept his hands clasped behind his back, patiently waiting for your reaction.
"Well, look here you regulation fascist, I plan on..." you pause as you fully register what he said. "Wait, you believe me?" You looked up at Spock, taking note of the slight crinkling of his eyes as he holds back a smile.
Spock tilts his head to the side slightly. "Of course, I do. I will go tell the Captain to set a coarse for the Zeldron system." He bows his head, ending the conversation and walking away. But you weren't done yet.
You rush forward, placing a hand lightly on his arm. He stops and turns to you, raising a pointy eyebrow in question. "You actually agree with me? I find that hard to believe. Usually, you like to argue a little while longer." You look him in the eyes, almost like a challenge.
"Believe it Ms. (Y/n). I happen to think more highly of you than you give me credit for. As for the short conversation, you just happen to pose a logical explanation. I have nothing further to discuss."
You nod. "Thank you, Spock. I will be sure to not disappoint you." You give his arm a squeeze before you turn and run to go tell Scotty the good news.
Spock watched as you hurried off. Shaking his head, he turned and headed back to the Bridge to inform the Captain about the status of the warp core. And to seek advice on how to properly address his feelings for you.
Walking onto the Bridge, Spock picked out the yellow-shirted blond, making his way to him.
"Captain, I have some news at to the progress of our warp core repairs."
"Sulu, take us to warp 4. Be sure to keep her steady." Kirk turns to his Vulcan friend, laying a hand on his shoulder. "That's great Spock, but Scotty already sent up a report." Leaning in a little closer, Kirk smirked at him. "But I am anxious to hear about your progress in wooing Commander (Y/l/n)." He wiggled his eyebrows up and down.
