"So what does it do?" I ask Leonardo, bending over to stare at the golden orb on his desk.
"I'm not sure, the metal it is made out of shouldn't even exist! It's structure and operation are very complex, I don't see how anyone could have made it but it certainly isn't natural." Leonardo answers whilst also staring intently at the golden sphere.
Ezio steps forward and reaches for the orb, raising it in his hand as it emits a strange, golden glow.
In a surge of energy, the ball sparks and bursts with golden light which trickles around the room, concentrating in certain places and revealing images, maps and words.
Leonardo, Ezio and Ferdinand all gaze in wonder and alarm at the golden strings but my eyes are fixed on the orb. It is so familiar to me.
I extend my hand and lightly brush my fingertips over it.
A pulse of energy from the ball passes through the room and the men all freeze.
"Ezio?" I ask, waving my hand in before his frozen face.
"The silly constraints of time do not apply to us my dear," an echoed voice sounds from behind me, "but it does to those humans."
I spin to spot a translucent, glitchy woman standing there staring at me.
"Who are you? What are you?" I wonder out loud, stepping away from the stranger.
"Forgotten me already? Fine. I'll tell you my name and see if that rings any bells." She glides forwards swiftly and places her mouth right next to my ear so I won't miss a single syllable.
"Minerva."

Ezio's pov
It's amazing!
I'm not normally one to appreciate scientific phenomenon but this...this is miraculous.
I stare in wonder at the orb and notice (y/n)'s hand go to touch it, stroking it softly before wrenching her hand backwards and stepping away.
"(Y/n), what's wrong?" I ask whilst reaching out to grasp her hand.
She flinches and steps away, staring at me with a look of horror on her face.
She looks pale as a ghost and I can see sweat beads starting to form on her forehead.
"Excuse me, I'm not feeling well." She stammers before turning and rushing out of the door, Ferdinand chasing after her.
Leonardo and I continued to look at the apple but all I could think about was (y/n), although I know her well enough now to realise that she needs time alone after reacting like that.
I wonder what could have spooked her.
------ time skip -----
Antonio told me to make my way to Forli, where we could hide the apple from the Templars, as soon as possible.
I'm not sure if they expect me to bring (y/n) or not but there is no way in hell I'm leaving her in Venice alone.
