Just realised, we recently hit 2K reads! So I decided I'd do another update now! Thank you for reading!
(Btw, the image attached is what the room looks like 😏 )

Your POV

"Why am I even here Ferdinand?" I ask, too tired to shout.

"Because I can't have you running around Venice with some idiot. Do you even remember what your father told you? He's going to kill you if he sees you again. Kill you!" Ferdinand paces the length of the room as I lie on my stiff bed halfway along the right wall.

The room is fully furnished and medium sized, I guess Ferdinand must be quite high up in ranking to convince Emilio to give me a room like this. Although, I have met Emilio once or twice and ,although he's a horrible person, he tends to treat pretty young women differently. I'm surprised he hasn't visited me yet, I would have thought that he would have been the first one to lecture me here.

"Yeah yeah yeah, I know all that." I roll my eyes and sit up. "Just let me leave Fer, or I'll be breaking out. I'm not afraid to kill every guard here. You know me and you know I can and will do it."

"With what? Please...just stay put. Stay safe." Sighing, he turns and leaves the room, slamming the door behind him.

"I'm not giving up!" I call after him, sitting up and throwing one of the pillows at the closed door. I flop back down onto the bed and begin to formulate a strategy. There are probably tons of guards here and the whole place is surrounded by water.

That's it! It's surrounded by water!

If I can get to the roof then I can just use the moat to get down and away. Hitting the water after jumping from such a height will probably hurt but it'll be better than trying to get out the front.

Now I just have to get onto that roof. I walk over to the door and listen for a few moments, hearing no shuffling or voices. I kneel down and reach into the corset of my dress, ripping out one of the long metal wires. I fold it in half and bend over the tip, ending up with two prongs, one hooked and the other flat.

Inserting both, I begin to set all the pins and finally I hear the familiar click of the lock flipping up. I open the door slightly and peep through the narrow slit, nobody coming down the hallways.

Now or never (y/n).

Taking a deep breath I open the door and slide out, closing it behind me and sneaking down the darkening corridors. It must be late in the evening, it's almost dark now. I hear footsteps echoing down the hallway, coming from up ahead. There's another corridor branching off up ahead so I dart over there and press myself against the wall. After a few moments, a pair of guards walk past my hiding place, mumbling to each other about suspicious activity on the rooftops and sightings of a strange, bird-like creature spotted flying nearby.

My mind flashes back to the strange contraption Leo had in the back of the cart when we came to Venice. He's up to something and I'm pretty sure that Ezio is involved in it.

After the two guards have moved on and turned at the end of my corridor, I slip out and continue forwards. At the end there is a set of stairs, spiralling upwards, and a branch off to the left, leading away and further into the building. I hesitate for a moment. Which way?

I guess if I want to go to the roof then it would be logical to head upwards. Then again, it could be easier to go up another way, I also want to get all my stuff back.

Taking one last glance at the  stairs to reevaluate my rash decision to take the left corridor, I run down the empty hallway and try to navigate my way to the upper floors.

Sorry it's short, I just wanted to publish something. I'll try and update soon :)
