"Y/N-ah, are you coming?" your best friend, Jeonghan, called out.

Previously jotting down notes for your history class, you put your pen down and got up, jogging to catch up with Jeonghan. "Let's go!" You were about to continue walking when you felt his hand on your back. Well, wasn't that unusual. You raised a questioning brow at him. "What?"

He only grinned, but something seemed off and suspicious. Jeonghan wasn't a big fan of skinship, and you knew that.

Shrugging it off and putting the smile back on your face, you pulled his arm and the both of you made your ways to the school's cafeteria.

The moment you stepped inside, you felt eyes on you for unknown reasons. You couldn't deny how it slightly freaked you out, but continued pulling Jeonghan to the direction of the line to quickly get your food.

The boy suddenly pulled his arm from your grip. "Uh, Y/N-ah, I forgot my canvas back in the art room. I'll just go and get it, okay?" He then ran off without waiting for your response, leaving you to stand in line, your mouth gaping as you watched him disappear.

"Close your mouth, flies might get in." You heard a voice from behind you. Abruptly turning around, you came face-to-face with one of the school's most popular guys.

Joshua Hong Jisoo.

If anyone could live up to the saying 'looks can be deceiving', that would be no other than Joshua Hong Jisoo. He had the face of an angel, his smile seemingly ethereal and kind. The teachers loved him, seeing as he was a straight-A student. However, despite all the perfection he possessed, there was one thing that made you despise him to the core.

Joshua Hong Jisoo was a player.

That was why you presently had a scowl plastered on your face. "What do you want?"

He smiled his angelic smile that would have made you melt into a puddle of goo if you were any other girl. "I want to buy you lunch."

You scoffed. "First, don't give me that smile, I won't fall for it. Second, why the hell would you, of all people, buy me lunch?"

His smile only widened. "I can smile any way I want, Y/N. And as for buying you lunch, it will benefit me," he winked, "don't worry."

"You have got to be kidding me," you mumbled, crossing your arms.

Joshua's eyes brightened. "I'm not kidding, Y/N-ah. What do you want for lunch?"

Should I let him buy me lunch? I mean, it's not like I don't have money or anything like that, but free food? Who in their right mind would resist that?

Free food.

"Fine! If you insist, I'd like the mashed potatoes and chicken. Oh, and apple juice."

"Coming right up, sweetheart." While he paid for your food and drink, you visibly shuddered at the word 'sweetheart'.

The moment your food and apple juice were handed to you, you made a beeline to the table in the corner of the cafeteria, where it was always more quiet. Much to your surprise and dismay, Joshua followed you, bringing his food along with him, and settling himself in the seat across yours. "What do you think you're doing?"

He looked up from his spaghetti. "Eating, of course. Can't you see?" he sarcastically replied.

You rolled your eyes, deciding to keep quiet and continue eating.

"So," Joshua suddenly said after some time of being silent, "when will I get it?"

Perplexed, you looked at him, tilting your face slightly, brows furrowed in deep thought. Had you promised him something unknowingly? No, you were sure you hadn't. "What, in the name of everything holy, are you talking about?"

Joshua smirked, telling you to keep still as he stood up and leaned forward, taking a piece of paper taped at the back of your school uniform.

On it were words that made your eyes feel like they were going to pop out of their sockets anytime soon.

"Treat me for a kiss! 😘"

"I did not write this! I didn't even know it was there! There's no deal, okay? Understood?!" You grew frantic, not wanting to kiss Joshua Hong Jisoo just because he bought you your lunch.

He laughed. A genuine laugh where the edges of his eyes crinkled and his mouth turned up into a wide smile, opened as the melodious sound of his laughter escaped from it. Once he had managed to calm himself down, he faced you, still a little teary-eyed from laughing so hard earlier. "I won't force you into doing anything you aren't comfortable with, Y/N-ah." His eyes briefly glanced at your lips, mumbling a soft, "Although, if you kissed me that would be great, too."

You heard; you blushed.

"Anyway," he awkwardly cleared his throat before his voice turned cheeky, "I do have a benefit, and I've gotten it."

Unable to keep your curiosity, you asked, "What is it?"

"Sitting here, eating with you. That's beneficial enough for me."

Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
