Chapter 37.

"Come on then" I say, still shocked by how stunning she looks. She clocks my tie and melts.

"Nice tie gorgeous" She says and I can't contain my smirk, the signature grey tie that holds so much significance for both of us. I've never get a clothing item for as long as I have this. Well post childhood.

I tell her we're going in the helicopter and she looks at me with excitement. That's right baby, a history lesson is going to be had tonight.

"Where are we going?" She asks me, her blue eyes peering up at me.

"Somewhere of significance, come on get in" I say urging her to get in the car. She climbs in at ease, I follow suit as does Taylor. Significance is rolling right off my tongue tonight.

"Escala?" She looks at me and laughs as we approach the underground car park.

"Where dreams came true" I say winking. We need to go in there first, it's literally where my dream came true. Ana, marriage and Teddy. I nod at Taylor letting him know that we'll be fine now.
We get into the elevator and the attraction goes from 0 to 100 in a second flat.
I can't resist and kiss her as lightly as possible to make sure I don't ruin her hair. I love you.

"Home sweet home" I say walking in laughing and she murmurs something back to me but I know it's in agreement. Of course it isn't but she knows the way in which I'm saying it. I could never sell this apartment, it has too much relevance in my life.
Oh I've turned in to a soppy bastard.

"A drink?" I say walking over to the island in the kitchen, Anastasia hand still in mine. She nods and I pour us both a glass of champagne.

"Is that okay?"

"Perfect, thank you Mr.Grey" she says. We talk for a good twenty minutes until Taylor texts me to say that Charlie Tango is on standby and is ready to go.

"Come" I say extending my arm which she takes willingly getting of from her stool.

I urge her to climb into Charlie tango which she does willingly, taking her headphones as I strap her in. She knows the drill now.
We've done this trip multiple times but the way her eyes lights up and smile grows just as big as though it's her first time up here brings me the same amount of joy and happiness that occurs each time.

"The Heathman? Oh my I love you!" She exclaims as we arrive outside the hotel. She wraps her arms around me and kisses me.

"We're having a history lesson tonight baby" I say to her and her smile widens further once again. I pull her close to me and try to guard her from the cold as we enter. I have my arm around her and she stays close. A women who seems to be a middle aged women, well dressed and good looking looks at us in what seems like awe as we both laugh carelessly at each other. I catch her smile, and can't help but return the way she addresses me.
She must catch my feelings of nervousness and excitement as she gives me a slight wink in what I think is encouragement. Ana's too wrapped up in me that she doesn't even realise which brings me guilty pleasure. Why am I nervous of my wife?

Ana and I make our way towards the bar, as we walk in a waitress approaches us. Ana orders a dry white and I order a gin and tonic. Hendricks.

"Nothing's changed has it" she says looking around, in all honesty it takes me by surprise as though someone's winded me then pain comes up to my throat until I look at her face and realise she's addressing the hotel. She must notice the pained look on my face because she cocks her eyebrow in confusion.

Fuck. I thought she meant me. I have changed.

"Regarding the interior. No." I reply.
"Regarding us, a lot. But not too much, the" before I can finish she cuts me off and begins to read my mind.

"Perfect amount" she says in almost awe. I feel her shoe brush up my leg and I smirk. Don't try and seduce me here baby because it'll only get flipped. Will it? Once upon a time maybe, Ana has all the power but I won't let her know that. From day one she's had all the power.

"Penny for you thoughts" I ask her, it's the only way I bring her out of her thoughts usually. But this time is different, she just looks at me and shakes her head softly. This is definitely the first time in a while I've regretted trying to get her to tell me what she's thinking.
I know something's eating her. Don't let that ruin your shit Grey. You've got a plan to unveil.

"Are you eating?" The waitress says coming over with drinks. She looks at me for a little too long but I brush it off.

"No not here" I say trying not to give too much away for Ana. The waitress looks at me and then nods walking away. Polite Ana of course thanks her for the drinks and I give her a tight smile that isn't legit to acknowledge her.

"Where are we eating?" Ana looks at me quizzically for the fifteenth time tonight. I tap the side of my nose and she giggles.

"Like music to my ears" I murmur and she smiles evening brighter.
We have another drink which takes up to 8.00pm,perfect.
She's been telling me stories of her and Ray on vacation as a child. As always when she's talking about Ray her smile doesn't fade, in fact it grows. My main aim in life is to make sure that my children are exactly the same when they're telling somebody little stories from their childhood. Phoebe to a friend, no boyfriends till you're 30 strictly. That's at the least.
And Teddy well he's already quite the charmer so my boy will have no problem in finding somebody. Hopefully he'll do a lot better than me. See a lot less than me well in fact he will, none of my babies will ever come close to being as fucked up as I am or at least once was and treat a woman with immense respect and cherish her like I do with his mother. And when or should I say if the time comes when Phoebe can find a lovely gentleman that has passed the test to sweep her off her feet then he best treat her with undignified respect and beg at her feet for a second date or he will not see the light of day again. I'm sure Teddy will have the area covered, he already does.

I've come to realise that my chapters are a little too short so I'm going to make them progressively longer! I've sorry for the late update xx
