All the hospital scenes from Harry Potter played out in her head as the three of them rushed in. George laid on the bed with James sitting on it, holding his hand gingerly. The rest of the team stood around the bed in a cluster.
George's face looked dull as he sent a tired smile at his incoming guests but there was something else to it, something sad. John and Rose each took a position beside Andy as Kenna went by her sick friend's side to kneel next to his bed. It was strange seeing the concern in her eyes that was usually laid buried. She took his other hand and gave it a light squeeze. "How are you feeling now?"
"Since you last asked me fifteen minutes ago? Like I could perform the Globe theater or wherever the hell James keeps yammering about."
"Well then." Lucy crossed her arms. "This isn't the Goya Awards, no need to build tension. Spill."
There was a night and day difference to his face as George's smile dropped. His eyes looked almost pleading as he looked at each member of the team as if asking them to stay in this moment forever. Something about it almost seemed familiar to Rose as he swallowed the lump in his throat before speaking in a shaking voice. "They figured out that the poison was mixed with the Blodyn Llen."
"The Veil Flower? What the hell would they do that for?" Ellie questioned before seeing all the bewildered faces around her. She continued with a sigh, "The Veil Flower is used to see a person's soul. A Warlock can transfer souls from one body to another, but because it is the same soul someone who has the Veil Flower in their system can see past the body into the soul. I don't see why this would be any cause for alarm. I'm pretty sure we are all in our original bodies."
"That's the thing," he choked. "We're not...You guys I have those sketches of Morgana and Mordred in the book right? The ones that are actually pictures of their real faces?"
Kol nodded, his voice rising at what his team member was implying, "Yes, Father taught me that spell was I was ten. What are you getting at?"
George raised a shaking hand at Andy. "He's Mordred. I saw his true face before I passed out."
Andy's eyes widened as the whole group stared at him. Rose's heart dropped in her chest as she backed away from the man she called friend standing next to her. She knew this was coming. Theo had said it would be according to the book but in her heart she wanted to believe it was wrong. The last thing she wanted was to be betrayed again.
Andy began backing away from the group, holding out a hand to keep them back. "No. No, you have to believe me. I would never betray you."
"Hold out your arm, Andrew," Kenna said, her voice sharp enough to cut through titanium. "If you aren't a traitor then you have nothing to worry about."
"Kenna, please I-AAAHHH!" Andy screamed as Rose's brother grabbed at his outstretched arm. A orange glow spilled out underneath Kol's tightening grip. He pulled his arm back in disgust as if he had been hurt when he was making his team mate cry out. Andy fell to the floor, gripping his forearm. When he pulled his hand away, two dark marks had appeared. One of a dragon and another of a raven.
As soon as he revealed them, two loud snaps echoed in the spacious wing. Her friend, no, the enemy fell to the floor unconscious. All of the Knights, save for Kenna and John, dove in around Andy's body and began to take him away. The pounding of their footsteps as they raced out of there with him made the coming silence unnerving.
"What did you do to him? Where are you taking him?" Rose faced her family. She felt John take hold of her arms as she tried to charge them. Everyone's face looked broken except for Kenna's.
