Rieka let out a satisfied sigh, a small smile gracing her plump lips. She blew lightly over her cup, allowing the steam to evaporate away for a few moments before spiralling upwards for the cup once more.
'Nothing beats an espresso after a painfully long day..'
The brunette mused, closing her eyes with a peaceful smile, slumping down into her chair. She had just returned from briefing Koharu about her battle against Kisame. Hiruzen was still in recovery, but he had been shipped back to his home as medical shinobi fear he won't make it.
It wasn't much of a surprise for Rieka, he had been around since the creation of Konoha, and without Tsunade's incredibly skill to heal him - She left the village years ago, refusing to return - he was left on deaths door, but that didn't bother her. She couldn't care less whether or not he survived, if he didn't it just meant they got a newer and probably better Hokage.
Speaking of Koharu, she had been unfairly sour towards Rieka when she delivered her report. After just over ten years of shinobi service, Rieka still didn't know why the old bat hated her clan so much. She was even the main reason her parents were dead, she had vouched for them to go in place of others that were suggested.
'Maybe it has something to do with Fay?'
Rieka's ancestor seemed to be the topic of the day, everyday. According to Hiruzen she had taught not only him but Koharu and Homura, the advisors of Konohagakure. But that just raised even more questions, if Koharu had been taught by an Akiyama, than why did she hate them so much?
'Maybe she just hated her sensei and is now taking it out on me?'
Rieka shrugged her shoulders, either way it didn't bother her the slightest, the Konoha Advisor could hate her as much as she desired, everyone else did.
"Rieka!" A chipper voice bellowed throughout the halls. Rieka's eyes slowly opened, glancing over to the hyper blonde as he came running, wearing his trademark grin that still, even to this day, made her heart clench.
"Whats up, Naruto?" Rieka smiled, sitting up and placing her cup on the coffee table before her, crossing one leg over the other in a superior kind of way.
Naruto grinned, "Can we go to the park? Shikamaru and Chouji are going to be there today and I promised to play Shinobi with them!"
Rieka sighed, why couldn't he make plans that didn't involve her wasting her day off at a park surrounded by screaming children?
"Get your coat, its cold out."
Naruto beamed, nodding enthusiastically before he shot out the room, grinning widely. Rieka did a double check on her appearance, she was dressed in all black, her forehead protecter hanging loosely around her neck.
'Good enough'
She shrugged her shoulders, pulling her dark locks back into a high pony tail, a few strands falling down over her eyes but she quickly brushed them back.
Rieka took notice to the overwhelming length, even tied up it still reached past her waist.
'Time for a cut'
She remarked, grabbing a few kunai for safety and stuffing them into her pouch. She walked towards the front door, double checking the locks before lifting the boy into her arms. It was hard to believe he would be four in nine months, it was hard to believe she was already seventeen, time flew by fast.
Rieka shut the door behind her, breathing in the brisk morning air with a small smile before she took off, holding Naruto tightly to her chest.
