(I just had to put the image there [above]. My SHIP my OTP)
Annabeth's POV
I stared at my Seaweed Brain.
Pale.
Shivering.
Silent screams.
When can his agony stop?
I felt he clench his grip on my hand, holding it like it was a lifeline.
His haunted green eyes stared at mine. He was begging me to make it stop, but there was also a fiery determination. A determination to survive this. That's my Seaweed Brain; the stubborn, loyal boy that I've always came to fall in love upon.
No more silent screams. How much is the next wave of pain is going to let him have the pleasure of relief?
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Eight seconds.
Nine seconds.
Ten seconds.
10 seconds without pain. 15 seconds hopefully? Too late.
He then let out another of his silent screams and clenched my hand even tighter. Tears welled up in his eyes and more sweat came down, that was quickly dabbed by Hazel.
I sent her a gracious look. I was really glad that she was here to help. I can't really possibly do anything with him gripping my hand.
But yet, I don't understand. Why does he let out silent screams? He could scream for real alright, and we won't judge him at all. No one will, becaus he'll never judge us either. Simple. It's the golden rule.
You don't always have to be the hero, Seaweed Brain.
Hero. He'll have to get up and be the hero again in one more day. How will he recover? He only has one day. And this worries me the most. The fact that he has to go into battle after only getting out of sick bay. He's weak and vulnerable, and he's only has one day to get back on his feet, for gods' sake! It's just isn't fair.
"Time for dinner!"
My head snapped to the direction of the door.
It was Leo. "I won't be going." I said.
Leo shook his head. "Annabeth, no. You need to eat. Percy.......he'll be fine."
I gave him a look. "You think that he'll be fine? He's anything but fine!" I snapped.
Leo flinched.
"But Annabeth," Hazel said softly. "Just please eat. You haven't have a proper meal for days. I'm sure that Percy needs rest and some private time for a bit. Anyways, it won't be for long."
My stubbornness said no, but my stomach said yes. It was true, I was hungry and I really needed a short break. But how can I leave him with his waves of raw pain?
"Food." My stomach said.
"Be quiet." I said. "I need to take care of Percy."
"Food is good."
"You're now doing poetry? That also rhymes?"
"Food. With pizza, olive pizza! Ooh, dessert too, pudding to be more specific!"
"I guess a bit won't hurt."
"Yeah, let's get going."
"Wait, what? No! I'm not leaving him here!"
