WAKINGinha felt a tickle on her cheek. she jerked her head for it to go away, groaned at how she didn't appreciate the disturbance.
that was when she heard the low chuckle. she opened her eyes to find taehyung looking down at her with a small smile. his thumb was rubbing circles on her cheek as his eyes seemed to graze her every feature. she registered his bare arm and very naked torso, realized she didn't have that much on herself under the covers. heat crept up her cheeks at the thought of everything that had happened the previous night.
"morning."
inha could only look at him as he pushed her hair from her face. she was speechless, mostly because they did everything and so much more but also because she never realized how beautiful taehyung looked. how the light seeping through the blinds outlined his perfectly sculpted face, making his sharp features glow. took the time to appreciate his beauty as her mind collected herself.
"fuck," was all she could utter when she could finally will herself to speak. taehyung only sighed, gave her an apologetic look before he laid back down on the pillow. she had been staring at the ceiling trying to let it sink in that they'd done all that when taehyung's arm was suddenly around her waist and pulling her into him.
he had one arm over her shoulder as she laid on his chest. she was perfectly aware of how her heart was hammering right now, a perfect contrast to his steady one. it didn't help how his fingers aimlessly traced patterns on her collarbone, how he rested his chin on top of her heart like it was easy.
how was he so calm about this?
"taehyung—"
"before you say anything," he interrupted, "i know, okay? i know this isn't how you expected for the things to go between us. i know you're not ready yet for us to be more. i know you're probably regretting everything right now. but i don't. so please, for the sake of my sanity, can we just pretend we're different people for a few hours? that we're just a boy and girl who are fortunate enough to have crossed each other's path?"
when he put it like that, it was impossible to say no.
"okay," she said, but pulled away from his embrace and rolled over to the other side. her body felt cold at the absence of taehyung's. he let her have her own space for a few seconds before she felt the bed shift.
inha could feel his breath tickle her skin as he pressed his chest against her back, arms circling her waist and pulling her closer to his body. like they weren't already close enough. inha was too tired to push him away so she laid her hand on top of his and sighed at how complicated everything was becoming.
she forgot how nice it felt to wake up in the arms of someone else. to have someone looking at her like she meant the world. she missed it. missed someone touching her like this, holding and never wanting to let her go. she'd been alone for too long.
she felt something warm at the back of her neck, realized that it was just taehyung planting a soft and gentle kiss. his lips moved to her shoulder. a chill went down all over her body with every peck, every breath that she felt on her skin.
"taehyung. don't," because she knew if she didn't stop him, he would just get carried away. again.
"relax, i wasn't going to do anything else," his voice was low and husky, inha felt her stomach clench at how good he sounded. "unless you want me— ow!"
his arm jerked when she pinched his palm, but stayed on her waist. "that hurt."
"you deserved it."
he chuckled. inha coulnd't remember when the sound had started to sound so melodic in her ears. she couldn't remember the last time she felt this nice, this warm, this light. and then she remembered that this was taehyung, jimin's best friend. suddenly, all she felt was dirty.
"what are you thinking?" he said. inha couldn't really focus with his palm rubbing her forearm.
"nothing. just... this doesn't feel–" she sighed, "jimin."
"i thought we agreed to be different people for today?" he didn't sound as hurt as she had expected. they were in bed together, after all, yet she had the guts to bring up her ex. his best friend.
she was terrible. why was taehyung still even holding her right now?
"yeah, okay. sorry."
taehyung mumbled something along the lines of a muffled "that's better", she couldn't really hear with the way he has his lips on the back of her neck. especially when he started planting soft kisses all over again.
"please stop."
"that's not what you said last—"
"taehyung."
he laughed, a loud one and she could feel the grin on his face as he put his cheek on top hers. found herself smiling. at him, at herself, at the warmth that they were sharing. she knew exactly that taehyung wanted nothing more than for them to stay like this, legs tangled and wrapped in each other with nothing to worry about. but that was just a dream that existed in his head.
and inha knew they had to wake up sooner or later.
