Lilly's POV
"We're gonna be in so much trouble with Mr. Davenport." Chase said as we approached the door. "We're two hours past curfew, and the lights are already off."
"We are bionic teenagers who go on top secret missions." Bree said. "I'm pretty sure we can sneak past an out-of-shape, middle-aged man."
"Alright, well, just to be safe, I'll use my bionic vision to scan inside." Chase said. He placed two fingers on his temple and faced the door. A few seconds later, he turned to us. "All clear. They must be asleep."
"Good, but we've got to be super quiet." Leo warned.
"Sneakin' in after curfew. This'll totally boost my bad boy cred."
I looked at my boyfriend. "Chase, you don't have a bad boy cred."
Chase slowly opened the door and we quietly walked in. All the lights were off, so I could only hope that no one would hit their foot on something. I heard the door close, but it was only loud enough for us to hear. Just as we were about to exit the living room, the lights turned on follow by, "BUSTED!" We all jumped about a foot in the air and screamed. When we turned around, no one was there. Suddenly, Davenport appeared on the red chair, causing us to scream again. "Ha!"
"I don't get it! I scanned the room!" Chase exclaimed.
"Mm-hmm, and I foiled you with my invisibility cloak!" He threw his cloak on the couch. "Again I say, Ha!"
"Well, you got us." Leo said. "Good night."
We tried to make a run for it, but stopped at his voice. "Freeze!" We turned to him. "You are all grounded. Three weeks." I gaped at him.
"What?!" "That's not fair!" "Come on!" "Seriously?!" "Is that all you got?" That last one was obviously Adam.
"Look, you guys have no idea what it's like raising teenagers." Davenport said.
"He can't ground me if he can't see me!" Adam told us before running towards the couch. I assumed he went to grab the cloak, but he grabbed the blanket instead. He threw it over himself and ran. Right into the door. Ouch!
"I didn't grab the invisibility cloak, did I?" He asked.
"No you didn't, Adam." I told him.
I turned to Mr. Davenport saying, "Mr. Davenport two of us are highly intelligent people, can't you trust us at least with ourselves, we are totally capable of taking care of ourselves!"
He replied, "Do you want the 'my house my rules' speech or the 'do what I say because I can take your bionics' speech."
The other four promptly ran off and I giggled. I smiled at him saying, "Though I'm not particularly happy with being grounded, thanks for being a dad."
I hugged him and he hugged me back saying, "You're welcome."
I ran off because I heard Chase wondering where I was.

Since we were grounded, we weren't allowed to leave the house and since today was only the first day of our grounding, we decided to hang out in the lab and play cards. It was quite boring.
"I hate being grounded. Is the three weeks over yet?" Adam asked.
"It hasn't even been a day." Bree told him.
Suddenly, Davenport came running in, smile on his face. "Guys! Guys! I did it! I finally did it!"
"Graduated to big boy shoes?" Leo joked.
"No. I finally achieved something I have wanted my whole life." Davenport smiled. "I won the Presidential Medal for Scientific Achievement!"
"That's great." Chase told him.
"I think I got one of those for doing pull-ups in gym class." Adam said.
"I don't think so." Davenport said.
"Oh, yeah, you're right." Adam realized. "It was pushups."
"This is the highest honor a scientist can receive." Davenport told us. "My pictures gonna be plastered online and offline. If there's a line, my face is gonna be on it."
"What did you win it for?" I asked.
"My Neuro Scrambler." He pulled out a small device with a red ball on top. "This thing is going to revolutionize the field of neurology."
"Huh?" Adam asked confused.
"The brain." Chase answered.
"Oh."
"How's it work?" Leo asked.
"It can erase specified time increments of Neuro-Associations in the cerebral cortex." He explained.
"Huh?" Adam asked. Seriously?
"The brain!" Chase exclaimed.
"Oh."
"Basically it helps doctors erase bad memories." He clarified.
Tasha came down moments later. "Congrats, Donald! I got your text about the Presidential Award." They hugged. "Gosh, this is so exciting! What a big break for us!"
"Us?" Davenport asked confused and amused.
"I'm thinking I can interview you for my TV station? Local reporter lands Presidential Award winner... A Tasha Davenport exclusive. This could be a really big break."
Mr. Davenport said, "Yeah, this will be a really big break for you! I mean it would really help your faltering career. You'd really get to cover something that finally matters. You know what you have got yourself an interview... And a new pair of shoes... Just take my wallet." She took his wallet and stalked off.
I giggled asking Chase, "How come I never get new shoes whenever you goof up?"
He replied, "Because I never goof up!"
I gave him an 'are you kidding me?' look.
He asked, "When?"
I replied, "And I quote, 'How could I ever trust a liar, Lilly! If that is even your real name, you know what, we are done, when we escape, I'm leaving you here to rot!' "
He laughed nervously, "How about a shopping spree to Forever 21, Clarie's, and Widnsor?"
I replied hugging him, "I'm just kidding, babe." He let out a breathe of relief. I added, "I only need a shopping spree to Forever 21."
He chuckled nervously.
