Katherine was trying to get the hang of riding a broom; she really was. She just couldn't get it right.

She slumped her shoulders and slid down against the castle wall until her butt hit the grass.

"I can't do it." She muttered, her lips pursed with a frustrated tone in her voice.

"Sure you can!" Jack said from where he hovered a few feet up on his broom, his Gryffindor tie blowing in the wind.

Katherine slowly got up, using her hands to crawl against the wall.

"You can do it! Come on!" Jack said getting off his broom and walking over to her and hugging her tightly.

"I'm scared." She mumbled against his chest.

Jack gasped mockingly knowing she couldn't resist after being taunted.

"Katherine Plumber? Scared??" He grabbed his chest in mock surprise.

Katherine scowled.

"I can't believe it!" Jack cried, "Even BabyKangaroo_fanfica and Broadway_BlueEyes have it and they're younger than we are!"

Katherine pursed her lips and squinted at him.

"Alright!" She yelled before taking her Hufflepuff robe off and throwing it to the ground.

She rolled up her sleeves and Jack smirked.  He got her.

"You wanna see me on this thing? Watch!"

Katherine marched over to where her broom lay on the ground and waved her hand over it.

"Up!" She commanded.

The broom flew to her hand as told.  She mounted it and took a shakey breath; closing her eyes.

"Well don't just stand dere!" Jack yelled from where he stood, "Go-"

In an instant Katherine was levitating; her feet no longer on the ground.  She opened her eyes quickly and gasped, looking around her.  10 feet.  20 feet.  30 feet.

"I- I wanna come down!" She yelled back at Jack.

"Just lean forw-"

She had accidentally flipped her broom upside down and was hanging off of it by her hands, kicking her feet back and forth.

"Jack!!" She yelled.

'Oh gosh.' He thought, 'We're doomed.  This is worse than Neville.'

Katherine's grip was slipping and she couldn't hold much longer.  One finger slid, then another, another.

She was falling and fast.

"This is it." She thought, "This is the end."

"Wingaaaardium LeviosA!" She heard being yelled by Jack.

Nothing happened.  He said it wrong as usual.

Jack threw his wand aside and ran forward and quickly caught her.

Katherine lay in his arms stunned for a few seconds; her legs dangling over one arm as the other supported her back and neck.  She quickly wrapped her arms around him.

"Thanks." She muttered in his ear.

"No problem." He breathed out.

Jack quickly set her down before an idea hit him.  It struck him faster than Draco Malfoy's Stupify.

"Hey, why don't we try together?"

Katherine quickly shook her head vigorously.

Jack grabbed her hand softly and rubbed his thumb along it.

"Please." He said.

She looked into his comforting brown eyes before gulping.

"Okay." She whispered.

The two mounted his broom together; her in back of him circling her arms around his waist and prepared for take off.

"Ready?" Jack asked?"

He felt Katherine nod against him.

He pushed off and up they went.  He heard a slight squeal from Katherine as she held onto him tighter about sucking the life out of him.

Jack smiled to himself.  He enjoyed the feeling of Katherine being right beside him.

They flew over the quidditch arena and the Hogwarts castle.  The Forbidden Forest and Hagrids cottage.

"It sure it beautiful up here." Katherine mumbled as they flew over an ocean.

"Almost as beautiful as you." Jack whispered back.

Katherine blushed and hid her face back into his shirt.

Jack just laughed.

Katherine decided to try something she thought she never would do.  She slowly unwrapped herself from Jack's waist and spread her arms out like an eagle.

"I'm the Queen of the world." She whispered happily.

"You're my queen." Jack laughed.

Katherine smiled at the wind blowing through her hair before letting her arms encircle Jack's waist again.  The adrenaline still pumping through her veins.

"Ready to go home?" Jack asked.

"Yeah." Katherine smiled, "Let's go home."

And off the two went.  Up up and away.
