Jack Kelly walked out of the New York Academy of Art and literature with a spring in his step. His lasted drawing rolled up in his palm. The only thing stopping him was the sound of a bell ringing. He slipped the drawing into his messenger bag and ran to Pulitzer's office

"Damn it Kelly!" None other than Joe Pulitzer head of the printing press, yelled as Jack dashed in. "You're late." "I know." Jack said rummaging through his bag before taking $200 and slapping it on the table. "Dere ya go" He said his New York accent ringing clearly in his voice. Pulitzer could never be mad at him truly. Jack was engaged to his daughter after all. Joe attempted to speak but nothing came out as he sat there stunned. "G'day Mista Pulitzer." Jack said fixing his cap and walking right out without another word. Now was his favorite time the day. His coffee date with his ace and fiancé, Katherine. He passed one of the printing rooms and waved at Davey who was showing his little brother Les how it all worked. He pushed open the door letting the cool air hit his face before pulling out his phone. "Siri, direct me to Starbucks."

Katherine was seated at their usual table her faced shoved between her notebook as she took notes for her next literature assignment. She let out a small "Eek!" as Jack covered her eyes behind her. "Guess who?" He whispered in her ear. She smiled brightly before turning in her seat to kiss him. "How's writing going?" He asked, sitting across from her. "Great!" Katherine exclaimed hugging the notebook tightly. "I can't wait to get it on the typewriter!" "Kath, honey, this isn't 1899." "So?" Katherine said raising her eyebrows. Jack just put his hands up in defense. "Fine fine, do your old timey stuff." Katherine squinted her eyes at him as she took a sip of her caramel Frappe, giving her fiancé what he called her "state of death". "Hey wait, I've got somethin' fo' ya." Jack said remembering the drawing. He quickly opened his messenger bag and pulled out the rolled up drawing. Katherine raised her eyebrows as he unrolled it. He handed it to her and she gasped. "See?" He said gesturing to the drawing before slightly stroking her cheek. "You're beautiful." Her eyes filled with happy tears at just how much she loved him and knew he was the one for her. "Jack Kelly," Katherine said smiling wider than she thought possible, "You stole my heart." "Fo' sure?" Jack asked smirking. "Fo' sure." She said laughing. Then she leaned forward and gave him a kiss and put a dot of whipped cream on the tip of his nose laughing as he just smiled completely in love with her.
