Cinnabar contains sulfur which is commonly found in shooting stars, much like the shooting star which was an "ancient fire elemental" that Pearl called it. I believe that there was a gem inside the shooting star. The Cinnabar gem. The mural above has a gem inside of a shooting star to help prove this theory.
