Worry.(Tanba Koichiro)

  A loud smack echoes through the fields as you watch everything happen in slow motion. You immediately bolt out of your chair as your mouth hangs open in shock. You cover your nose and mouth with your hand as Tanba Koichiro tips backwards before crashing to the ground.

  You wanted to run to him, but you were watching on the sidelines, so that was not an option for you. Your legs freeze up as your shoulders begin to tremble. The whole team, including the coach, rushed forward to his aid and you finally come to your senses and rush towards your lover as he was getting rushed out in a stretcher. He looks like he was in pain as you notice his muscles clench as he bites down on his teeth.

"T-Tanba!!" You cannot help but exclaim as you reach his side. You wrap your small hand around his large ones and you feel him give you a reassuring squeeze.

  Your fingers then slip out of his  grasp as the medics rush out into the ambulance. You stand there, as the tears of worry stream down your face. You try to wipe them away with the back of your hand, but other droplets replaced it. The other team members waiting in the dug out reassure you again, but you can see the worry in their eyes too. Your eyes lock with the coach's and for once, his face looked genuinely sympathetic. Even with the ace down, the game had to still go on. He gives you a small nod and you turn around and dash out while the game proceeds.

"Koichiro..." Your voice hitches in your throat as you see his head bandaged up while he lays in the hospital bed.

"Hey (Your Name)." He gives you one of his soft smiles and you feel the tears coil again.

"You scared me..... you big idiot."  You sniffle as you wrap your arms around his neck tight.

"Sorry sorry...I'm fine...don't cry." His arms wrap around your waist tightly as he soothes you gently.

"Couldn't you have dodged it any faster?" You sniffle dumbly and you hear a deep chuckle resonate from him.

"A ball with that speed? I don't know (Your Name)." He hums against your neck.

  When you finally pull away, Tanba runs his thumb along your cheek before kissing you gently. His thumb felt rough against your cheek and your heart ached for him. He had been practicing so much, that his hands and fingers were all callused.

"I promise I won't make you worry anymore (Your Name). So don't cry yeah?" He whispers as he pulls away.

"Don't make empty promises..Baka." You pout and Tanba laughs again before ruffling your hair.

"Yes ma'am."
