"Ow" I groaned. I felt a pain in my left shoulder and my head hurt, too... Oh, right we got attacked. I opened my eyes too fast and the light blined me.
"Rei!" Someone hugged me. I saw a glimpse of red. "Are you okay?" The person was worried. Why would she be, she barely knows me.
"Princess...I'm okay. Where are we?"
"We are at the bottom of the valley."
I tried to sit up but a voice stopped me. "Lay down. Your wounds will open and it will be a pain to close them again." The owner of the voice was a young boy. His features were really delicate for a guy.
"O-oh...okay. So it was you who dressed my wounds. Thank you..."
"Yoon"
"Thank you Yoon." I smiled at him. He blushed and muttered something under his breath.
I spotted Hak. He was covered in bandages. He was injured really bad. I remember him cushioning our fall. I have to thank him later.
My thoughts were interupted by someone who entered the hut. The man was covered in mud and got scolded by Yoon because of this. He saw the princess and came closer to her. Suddenly he started crying. It turned out, he knew that Yona was a princess. She asked him how does he know her.
He told something about a god, however his response was interupted by Yoon. "Are you stupid? There's no point in living in seclusion if you tell others so casually." Wait seclusion? God? No way, he's the priest?!
After he confirmed it, I listened to them for a while. They were talking about the previous priest, who was opressed by the dead king's brother, Yu-hon. The reason was probably, because Yu-hon was scared of those people's knowledge and power. To me, they seemed harmless...well, this priest seems.
Suddenly, I remembered something. "Ah!" They looked at me quizzically. "Where's my sword?!"
"You had a sword?" Asked Yoon.
"Yes! It was a black katana with a dragon carved on the blade." He shook his head. I panicked. Su-mi entrusted me with this sword.
I rushed out of the hut, thinking about nothing else than my sword. I heard the princess' and Yoon's shouting but I paid no attention to them.
I was searching for about two hours and I finally found it. I sighed with relief and examined the sword. It was stained with blood, so I cleaned it in the river.
I tried to find a way back to the hut. I groaned. Great, I am lost, again! I walked, hoping that I can find someone. Suddenly I saw a figure sitting by the waterfall. It was the priest. I came closer and he turned around.
"Coming here was really hard, right Rei-san?" He asked.
"It was a bit hard, I got lost again...Wait, how do you..."
"No, I meant coming into this world." He smiled at me and patted the spot next to him. "You probably wonder how do I know that." I was so shocked that I couldn't speak. "God told me about you."
"Do you know why am I here?"
"I am sorry, but the only thing I know is that you should go with the princess on her journey." He saw the dissapointment on my face and took my hand in his. "I am sure, that you will find your answer."
"Thank you" I smiled at him. "I should better go back."
When I entered the hut I immediately regretted it. The princess was happy that I came back safe, however Yoon was...
"You!" The blonde boy shouted. He was very angry. "I told you not to get up but you decided to go on a trip. Now, lay down!" He ordered. I didn't want to piss him off more, so I listened to him.
[Next day]
Hak was better now. While he was annoying Yoon, the princess went to look for the priest. I was sitting next to Hak and eating the roll that Yoon gave me.
"Thanks, Rei." Hak said.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" He glanced at my shoulder.
"You helped me despite your own injury."
"Again, you're welcome. And about the wound... it will be healed in no time." I moved my shoulder a bit to show him that I'm alright.
"I told you not to move to much! Your wounds will open!" Yoon hit me with a spoon pretty hard.
"Ow..." I have to stop or he'll kill me with that spoon.
Suddenly Hak stood up.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"To find the princess." He replied.
Soon, we were at the waterfall. The princess was sitting with the priest.
The latter spoke: "Darkness has fallen upon the land. The blood of the dragons will revive once again... and the ancient pact will be kept. When the four dragons are gathered... the sword and the shield will protect the king shall awaken... and the Red Dragon shall restore the dawn at last." After that he fell on the ground. "C... conveying the voice of god really takes a lot out of me..."
"I don't understand it at all. I'm not buying anything this crackpot dishes out, no matter what it is." Hak glared, not believing the priest.
"He's not selling any." Yoon said.
This prophecy reminds me of the legend that Teruo told me once. Hak was skeptical but I believed in that. After all, I'm from another world. It wouldn't surprise me if the dragons were real.
The princess confirmed my speculations by telling the story about the cration of Kouka Kingdom. The priest told her that she needs more comrades, otherwise me and Hak will die. I gulped. The only way is to find the dragons. The princess was unsure about the dragons lending her their powers but the priest assured her, that it's her fate.
"Fate, huh?" I said quietly. I wonder what's mine...
Aaand I had to stop there or this chapter would be too long. I'm trying to write only important things but somehow the chapters are longer than I want them to be and sometimes I even have to split them. I wonder why...
