"I meant to ask you last week - how was your night with Taylor? Things seem... a lot better," Georgie asked as she passed Tate's lead to Leia, both girls dawning sunglasses and caps as they stepped out into the streets surrounding their hotel.
The days between her and Taylor's reconnection in the Ohio hotel had flown quickly, the couple spending the entire week cooped up together in Taylor's hotel in Maryland. Since the pop-star's touring production had rented out the top few floors of the hotels for the entire crew and team (with the top floor exclusively for Taylor), no one was around to bat an eyelid at Taylor and Leia being in the same room - mainly because only a select few were aware.
Leia had text Georgie that morning to let her know that she was off to take Tate for his morning walk and had been surprised when her younger sister had said she wanted to come too. It wasn't often Georgie was functioning before 10am, let along wanting to do the morning walk with the dog.
"Good, yeah," Leia said, nodding as she thought about the song Taylor had played for her, a small smile on her lips. "Very good."
Georgie raised an eyebrow, her suspicion piqued by Leia's uncharacteristically brief response.
"Very good, huh? Care to elaborate on that?" she prodded, her voice laced with a hint of mischief. She nudged Leia playfully with her elbow as they strolled down the sun-dappled sidewalk, Tate trotting happily ahead of them.
Leia hesitated, her fingers absently toying with Tate's leash. The morning air was crisp, carrying the scent of freshly baked bread from a nearby cafe.
"Nah, I don't think I will," Leia admitted after a moment, wanting to just keep that memory to themselves for a change. "But it was good. I feel good."
"What time do we need to be going to the stadium today?" Georgie asked, changing the topic and looking down at her watch. Leia mused her lips, nodding as they naturally both turned on the spot and started to head back towards the hotel.
"10am, I think," Leia replied, a coy smile on her face. "Sorry, Tate - looks like you'll need to get your walk in at the stadium. I need to be there earlier today cause Taylor wants to rehearse Shake It Off with me, and I need to try on my outfit for it - it's one of the ones they made as a backup for her but she doesn't want to wear it."
Georgie nodded before faltering in her step, blinking hard for a second as she turned to look at Leia in a double take. A grin spread on her lips, an excited laugh falling from them.
"No fucking way," Georgie squealed at the knowledge that her sister was joining the other three for shake it off, failing to notice the few fans that were on the other side of the street turning to look at them at the noise that fell from her lips.
Leia shot her a side look as soon as they heard the excited gasps from the other side, knowing that they were about to be delayed by the impromptu meeting. Despite her time obligations, Leia wouldn't just walk past them - not when everything she did was linked to Taylor's tour now.
The fans had already spotted them and were now hurrying across the street, their faces alight with excitement. Leia took a deep breath, plastering on her best smile as she prepared to greet them.
"Nice one, George," she muttered, passing the lead over to her sister as Tate turned to look at the small group rushing towards them. She gave Georgie a subtle nudge, reminding her to keep her cool.
"Hi there!" Leia greeted warmly, her voice carrying the same melodic quality it did on stage. "How are you all doing this morning?"
The small group of fans, three teenage girls and a guy, practically vibrated with excitement as soon as her mouth opened. One of the girls, sporting a handmade reputation t-shirt, stepped forward first, clearly the more confident of the quartet.
