Chapter 16: Leaving

Chaning's P.O.V

I'm going to the woods. Skye won't notice, she's ahead of me. I change direction and go to the woods. I keep running until I can't run anymore. I don't know where I am, so I just sit down. I feel tears in my eyes. I really like her! I feel like I could have prevented it. If I had kept going after her instead of Macy, maybe Mayor Humdinger wouldn't have hurt her. This is my fault. I could have helped but I didn't! I should be the one in the hospital. I stand up to try and find my way home, but a paw clamps over my mouth and drags me away.

Emerald's P.O.V

"Marshall I'm worried! It's getting late and he hasn't come home yet!" "I'm sure he's OK. Skye was with him, let's see if she knows where he is." Luckily Skye walks in. "Hey guys!" Skye says. "Have you seen Chaning since you got back?" "No, I haven't, is he not here?" "I don't know!" I burst into tears. "Emerald!" Marshall comes over and comforts me. "I'll get Ryder!" Skye runs off to find Ryder. 

Skye's P.O.V

"RYDER!" "Skye? What's wrong?!" "Chaning has gone missing!" "Oh gosh! We've got to find him!" I hope Ciara hasn't come back. Emerald is obviously distraught about this. Marshall is trying to comfort her but she can't shake it. I know how she feels. My little Charlotte is in the hospital. The feeling I had towards Mayor Humdinger was so strong that Ryder had to restrain me. I asked him what was. I would never put anyone in danger, only save them from danger. He said it's totally normal. "But what is it?" "Motherly love." I look at him confused. "It's the strongest love there is. The love a mother feels for her child is so strong that she would do absolutly anything if it meant saving her baby." I know he's right. I would do anything for any one of my girls. I would do the same for Chase too. And I know he would too, but for right now, we've got to find Chaning.

Chaning's P.O.V

"You're not Clara!" "I know! I'm Chaning." "You know Clara? Or Macy and Charlotte?" "Yeah." "OK, Chaning. I'll strike a deal with you. You get me one of them and I'll let you go." "No! I wouldn't put their lives in danger!" "Well what am I supposed to do with you?" "Oh, um I don't know, HOW ABOUT LET ME GO?!" "Sarcasam, eh? I don't like sarcasam. You treat me with respect." "Who are you anyways?" "I'm Ciara." "No, you're a butt! Now let me go, butt." I say holding out the t. "Fiesty, aren't ya? I suggest you stop that." "OK, you're not a butt. You're a butthead!" "Cut it out. I'm not here to mess around." "Butthead!" I go dead silent. Just staring her in the eyes. I move my face closer to hers. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I let out a high pitched super scream. She is dumbfounded and I take my chance. I run through the woods dodging trees and bushes and branches. I bought myself some time. I come out in a ditch. I can see the lookout! I make a run for it but I'm tackled down. Ciara has me pinned. Just when I think I'm done for, I hear helicopter blades. "Skye! Mom!" I see my mom's head pop up. "Ugh! Stupid PAW Patrol." Ciara gets up shouts at my family and runs back into the woods. Skye lands and my mom runs over hugging me tight. "Mom, what's f-" "Don't say what she said, it's a bad word." "Oh." We go home where I find Charlotte! "Charlotte! You're OK!" "I wouldn't be worried about me! You just got pupnapped!" "I'm fine, but her ears aren't!" "What'd you do?" "First I kept calling her a butt, then I got really quiet and stared at her. I leaned in really close, waited a second and screamed as loud as I could. I bought myself some time to run. Then Skye and my mom saved me!" "Wow! You're so brave!" I blush a bit because Ryan comes up behind me. "Dalmations aren't supposed to be pink." He smirks and we laugh. Tanner, Clara, and Macy are here too. "I'm so glad you two are OK!" Ryder says picking us both up. "Me too!" we both say. And we are.
