Chapter 3: Where's Ryder?

Chase and Marshall checked all Ryder's favorite places. "Chase! Chase.. wait.. up... Chase!" Skye yipped as she skidded to a halt in front of them. "Skye! Is something wrong?" "No, but I know where Ryder is!" "You do? Where?" "Follow me!" Skye took off with the boys trailing behind her. Skye, Chase, and Marshall arrived at... "Katie's?" Chase said curiously. "How'd you know she was here Skye?" "I tracked Ryder's pup pad!" "Ohh." "Well? Are you guys coming or what?" Skye asked. They pushed the door open and went inside. "Ryder?" "RYYDDEERRRRRR?" Marshall said a little too loudly. "Pups? Is everything OK?" "Ryder!" The pups ran up to him "What's wrong?" "Nothing! We thought you went missing!" Skye said. Ryder laughed and petted the pups. "So what were you doing here anyways?" Chase asked. "I was getting some pup treats. The store ran out of the kind you guys like." "Yay! Treats!" Skye, Marshall, and Chase said at the same times. They all laughed. "Bye Katie!" Ryder called. "Bye Ryder! Bye pups!" The pups and Ryder all went home to the lookout. Skye could hardly keep her eyes open because she was so tired and it was getting late. She ran into a light pole, Ryder's leg, and a log on the side of the road they were walking on. Finally, Ryder picked her up and carried her. "Poor pups, I bet you're all really tired! Chase nodded his head groggily and Marshall just stopped and fell over. "Marshall? Are you OK?" Chase poked him but was answered with a snore from the black and white pup. "Haha!" Chase laughed. Ryder laughed quietly hoping not to wake Skye. "Chase, do you thing you can wait here if I go and get the ATV?" "Of course Ryder sir!" "Great!" Ryder put Skye down beside Marshall and left to go get the ATV. Chase sat protectively in front of Skye. She is so cute when she's sleeping. Chase thought. He then heard a few minutes later Ryder arrive on his ATV. Chase picked up Skye and Ryder got Marshall and they put them on the back of it. Chase sat behind them keeping them from falling off. "Ryder sir?" "Yes?" "Why didn't you have your ATV in the first place?" Ryder's head poked up a little, kind of like a dog's ears. Chase could tell he was blushing. "I just thought walking.. uh.. would be... better exercise. Yeah. He he." Ryder said sheepishly. Chase knew he was lying because he liked Katie, so he just said OK. When they arrived,the other pups were still sound asleep. Chase's eyes started to become heavy and Ryder took all the pups to their pup houses. Skye instantly curled up in her soft warm bed. Marshall was still snoring and Chase rolled onto his back and fell asleep.
