Shantii
I was watching TV in my living room when I got a text from Keshina's mom.
Ma: Have you seen Keshina?
Me: No, why?
Ma: She's been missing for hours.
Me: well didn't you kick her out?
Ma: This is different, please just tell her to text me at least, so I can know she's alright.
I didn't respond and went to message Keshina.
Me: Shina, your mom's looking for you.
I waited a total of fifteen minutes and still hadn't received a reply. A wave of fear washed over me. I hope she was okay, we normally respond in 3 minutes or less.
I thought back to the last time I text her and she told me she was going to Quinn's and then the store. I remember I told her to text me when she arrived, but knowing her, she most likely forgot. I text Quinn.
Me: Where's Shina ?
Quinn: She just left, why ?
Me: She's not responding to my text.
Quinn: Me either but she said she was heading out to the store.
I didn't reply. I headed out in my pajamas and slid in my car. There were a whole bunch of 'stores'. How the hell was I supposed to know which store she went to?
I figured it was either between Food World or Kmart. Since Kmart was the closest, I drove into the parking lot and saw no sign of her car. I checked the front and the back, still no Keshina.
I rolled out of the lot and went straight to Food World. The first thing I noticed was Keshina's hazel cream Honda.
"Jackpot," I mumbled and slid into the parking space besides her.
I jumped out of my car and looked into her car window, she wasn't inside so she had to still be in the store. I walked away and headed to the store's entrance.
I paused when I found Keshina's phone on the ground, a few feet away from her car. I picked it up and found a full bag of groceries besides it.
"What the hell," I mumbled.
I looked inside of the grocery bag and there was no way in hell that this wasn't Keshina's food. It was pure pregnant food. My question is why the hell would she drop her phone and groceries in the middle of the lot and disappear?
How the hell is she going to leave her car, phone, and food in the center of this parking lot without any reason. Something definitely was up. I looked around and saw a small alley besides the store, and what looked like..
"Keshina!" I yelled, running over to her.
Cars were trying to past through the lanes but I paid them no mind. I ran over to her and scooped her into my arms. I put my head to her chest and heard a live heart beat. I picked up my phone and dialed 9-1-1.
The operator started off with a warm greeting. I grew frantic wondering what would happen if Keshina died in my arms. I wouldn't be able to take it.
