Harry: He was planning to propose to you, but he wanted to make sure that your dad approved of it, approved of him. So the day after he bought the ring, he drove to your parents' house. He could feel his heart pound in his chest, as he knocked on the door. "Oh, Harry. What are you doing here?" your mother asked with a smile, after opening the door. Harry smiled nervously. "Is your husband home?" he asked with a shaking voice. Your mother smiled bigger. She had a hunch about why Harry was so nervous. "Yes. Come on in. I'll get you a cup of tea" she said nicely and showed Harry inside. "He's in the sitting room" she said, before dashing off to the kitchen. Harry walked in to the sitting room, where he found your father on the sofa. "Hello, Harry, nice to see you. What's the occasion?" your dad asked, looking up from the TV. Harry looked down at his feet. "Sir, I have something important I need to ask you" he said anxiously. Your dad waved him closer, signalling for him to sit down. "Basically, I really, really love your daughter. And if it's alright with you, I want to ask her to marry me" Harry stuttered. His usual confidence had almost evaporated. Your dad chuckled heartily. "Well, of course you can ask her to marry you. You're probably one of the best choices she's ever made" your dad said happily, making a happy Harry breath out in relief.
Louis: "Just do it!" he thought to himself, as he took a deep breath. He nodded determinedly, before ringing the door bell at your dad's house. His heart was in his throat, beating wildly. After what seemed like an eternity to Louis, your dad opened the door with his usual smile. "Hello son. What a nice surprise" your dad said cheerfully and hugged Louis. "Where's my daughter?" your dad asked curiously. This was probably the first time Louis had gone to your father's house without you. "She's at home" Louis said and looked down for a moment. "Can I come in?" he asked, as he looked back up at your dad. Your dad nodded happily. "Do you want anything to drink? A beer maybe?" your dad asked, as he showed Louis into the kitchen. Louis nodded silently. "Thanks" he said, as your dad handed him an opened bottle of beer. Louis took a big sip, gathering his courage. "So what's this about then?" your dad asked expectantly. Louis took a deep breath. "I want to marry your daughter" he said. "She makes me happier than I've ever been, and it would be the greatest honour for me to be able to call her my wife. But I need to know that you're alright with it." Your dad looked straight at Louis for a second, before smiling. "Of course I'm okay with it" he said. "As long as you're paying for the wedding" he added jokingly, making a much calmer Louis burst into laughter.
Liam: "Liam? What brings you here?" your mother asks after opening the door and to her surprise finding Liam on the other side, without you. Liam smiles politely at your mother, who smiles back at him. "I have something important to ask you and your husband" he says, pretending to be calm even though he's freaking out on the inside. He hasn't been this nervous since he was on The X Factor. "Well come in, dear" your mother says and leads Liam inside. "Honey, come down here! Liam wants to talk to us" she shouts to your dad, who's upstairs. "In here." Your mother extends her hand towards the lounge. Liam nods and walks in. He waits for your dad to be in the room before sitting down. Your parents look at Liam expectantly from the other side of the coffee table. Liam takes a deep breath before he starts explaining. "As you know, your daughter and I have been together for a long time now. We've been through a lot together, and I really care about her. A lot. Actually, I don't just care about her, I love her. I love her so much! And recently I've been thinking about taking the next step in our relationship. I want to marry her. But I need to know that it's alright with you" Liam says and looks into your father's eyes. Your father smiles widely. "Of course it is. You make her happy and that makes us happy."
Niall: "'Sir, it's about your daughter.' No..." Niall said to himself. "Hmm, what about, 'Sir, I need to ask you something about your daughter'? No, that won't work either." Niall was so far away in his thoughts that he didn't notice your dad opening the door Niall had knocked on a few minutes earlier. "Niall?" your dad said in surprise, taking Niall back to reality. Niall blushed a little. "Hello sir" he said politely. "Erm... I, uh, have something I need to ask you." Your dad nodded. "Can I come in?" Niall asked, his voice almost shaking more than his hands. He just wanted to get this over with. Your dad stepped aside, letting Niall walk in. Niall walked into what he thought was the living room. It was actually your old room. Your dad followed him. Niall looked around before sitting on the bed. "So, what did you need to ask me?" your dad asked, as he sat down on the only chair in the room. Niall was awestruck by your childhood room and everything in it, so much so that he almost forgot why he was here. "Uh... Well, I, uh... I want to marry your daughter. I love her" he stammered. Your dad looked at him. "That wasn't a question" he said, making Niall blush in embarrassment. "I want to know if it would be alright with you. You know, if I married her. Would it?" Your Dad smiled and looked around the room. "I guess my baby has to grow up sometime, so it might as well be with a decent man" he said. Niall jumped up in sheer happiness and hugged your dad, while repeatedly thanking him.
Zayn: Zayn's head hangs, his eyes focused on the ground in front of his feet, as he walks up the stone path in your parents front garden, making his way to the door. With each step he takes a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. He walks up two steps before finally stopping in front of the door. He takes a final deep breath before looking up and knocking on the door. Not three seconds later your father has opened the door. "Hello Zayn, what are you doing here?" he asked the anxious young man in front of him. Zayn looked into his eyes. His brain is working on overtime trying to figure out what to say. "Can I marry your daughter?" he spit out in a nervous panic. Your dad looked at him from head to toe. "I'm sorry?" he said politely, unsure of what else to do. "Well, we've been together for 4 years now and I know we'll be together for much longer, which is why I want us to be together as man and wife rather than as just boyfriend and girlfriend. Making your daughter my wife would be me an honour, sir, as she is the most beautiful woman I've ever known. But I can't make myself propose without being completely certain that it's alright with you" Zayn says insecurely. Your dad shoots Zayn a strict look. "Son, as long as you can promise that you'll never hurt my little girl and always put her before yourself, then it's definitely alright with me that you two eternalise your love" he says and pats a now smiling Zayn on the shoulder. "Thank you, sir. I promise!"
