ALPHA ADRIAN'S POV XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hearing the loud howling wolf in the distance and recognising it instantly as my eldest son's kades, feeling his emotions which ranged from grief, guilt, rage, regret  to heartbroken back to  a murdering rage  it was all consuming the hate, bringing my thoughts back to the charred remains of young girl in front of us,

Some of the pack had brought the remains in awhile ago wrapped in a blanket there face's etched in worry, and sorrow lying it out on the couch i slowly made my way over, the only scent i was picking up was charred flesh pulling the blanket back i looked at the remains of what looked to be a young girl around mari's age judging by the size of her but thats all i could make out her whole body was unrecognisable, burnt, looked like she died a horrible and painful  death,

"I was praying that this wasn't Mari"           

i tell my men that are standing about    

"  and i can't say for sure if it is or not there's no scent at all did u find anything else i ask quietly   Tyler shook his head looking sad

"no Alpha though we left another patrol to search the area for any clues

" Good  " 

i reply nodding at him covering the remains of the girl back with the blanket, remembering the first time i met the little red haired girl that had managed to get into the hearts of everyone in the pack,  her protectiveness over her brother and sister her strength, and stubbornness her  quiet laughter and caring nature, the quite, watchful girl with the big green eyes full of innocence and yet full of  mischief, The girl i failed to protect .

hearing a commotion at the door i look up in time to see a shattered looking Johnny walking into the room holding a white bundle in his arms feeling the the deep dread in the pit of my  stomach he walked up to me passing me the bundle

"Alpha we found this about 10 minutes from were we found her body feeling myself freezing i looked at the material then slowly inhaled smelling the faint  familiar scent of Mari feeling a lump of emotion develop in my throat "god it was her it was Mari

"NNNO NONO aloud roaring came from the door Kade came running in, I tried to intercept him not wanting to see her like that it would totally send him crazy but he got there first watching as he gently scooped her up in his arms my oldest son who was feared by all packs and even his own known for his severeness his temper he was also the strongest wolf's  and warrior about,  i watched as   slowly  he  sat down on the floor with a broken and burned out body in his lap................

That night the pack gathered around kade as he sat with the body cradled to him like a baby silent tears rolling down his cheek. I had a sobbing Jess in my arms and  i watched as a devastated Paul cuddled a crying Annie to him,

The pack mourned the loss of life, there friend and family member they also cried for Kade and what he'd never have..... 

That was the last time i saw him cry show any kind of emotion at all he withdrew into a icy cold shell not letting anyone close, i think a part of him died that night the good part, all that was left was the icy cold indifference he showed to everyone, he was here a few weeks at a time then him and Mari's uncle would take off and go hunting and killing any stray  rogues that they came apon, making examples of them and letting all the rest know what  will happen when you fuck with our pack, we didn't have much bother after that.Though other smaller pack's were still having members taken.

As the season's came and went most of the younger pack members had came into there wolf, this believe me was a blessing as not only was me and kades mother worried for him, but also Jess and Paul had been extremely  reckless recently getting into fights and doing dangerous stunts, i hardly recognised my own daughter now she seemed to be on a suicide mission at our wits end we made her brothers shadow her but she always got away and trouble seemed to find her anyway. So i was relieved when both there wolf's came out and made them both a bit more durable,

Then Paul found his mate a young girl called Sarah pretty little thing that gladly couldn't of came at a better time calming him down considerably, that just left Jess and Kade god help me i thought to myself?.....
