The morning sun shone brightly through the small windows scattered throughout the medium-sized suite. My temporary living quarters were very nice, especially for a military base. To me, living quarters on a military base seemed very basic. I would have never thought they'd be anything like this.

My room was the equivalent to an apartment, the kind you'd find in like New York City or something. It was absolutely beautiful, and decorated nicely. Most of the decor was black and white, but I didn't mind that very much. It reminded me of the way my home back in North Carolina was decorated, so it made me feel at home. It was also a lot more comforting than I thought it would be.

At the moment I was sitting at the island in the kitchen. I had already had my morning shower, so I decided it was now time for some much needed relaxation time. I was perched up on the chair with my legs crossed, and I had a warm cup of tea sitting in front of me. The TV played in the background, but I was too focused on staring at the golden liquid in my cup to pay attention to it.

I was still trying to get over everything that happened last night. Crying like that had left me absolutely drained, both emotionally and physically, and I was almost certain I looked the part. The fact that I was now alone in my suite didn't make things any better, but I wasn't going to bother anyone because of it. Everyone here had way more important things to do than watch over me all the time. I just really hoped that sooner or later I'd be able to get over this pain.

I took a quick sip of my tea before sitting it back down on the counter. A knock on the door caused me to look over. I let out a sigh and just raised my hand before swinging the door open and taking another sip of my tea. That's the first time I've used my abilities in a while, but I was just too lazy to get up and open it, and I was also too lazy to tell whoever it was to come in.

The sound of footsteps caused me to look over yet again, and I saw Optimus's holoform making his way into the room. Once he noticed me at the island he made his way over.

"You have removed one of the door's hinges," he started. Oops.

"I'm feeling a bit lazy today. I didn't exactly feel like getting up to get it," I told him, taking yet another drink of my tea.

He gave me a look. "You could have easily just called for me to come in, Brenna. Then I could have opened the door without inflicting damage to it."

I just chuckled. "They'll fix it, Optimus." He just shook his head at me before walking around the counter to stand in front of me.

"I think there's going to be an issue regarding your laziness situation," he said.

"What kind of issue might that be?"

"Major Lennox and his men believe that it would be smart for you to have some sort of training; they would like for you to begin today. I was informed that they want you to start as soon as possible in case something were to go wrong and I was not there to protect you myself," he explained to me.

I let out a dry, insincere laugh. "Why do I need any kind of training though? I'm already powerful as it is," I replied with a frown.

"Yes, you are. But if something were to happen that you could not use your ability you would need to be prepared," he responded.

I shrugged. I guess it made sense enough for me to want to try to be involved.

"When do I start?" I questioned.

"Fifteen minutes. I'd advise you to get dressed."

"Can't I go in this?" I asked as I hopped down from my chair. I was wearing one of my mom's t-shirts along with a pair of leggings. I didn't find anything wrong with it, but Optimus seemed to.
