Soothed and reassured by the yet to be excavated prospects of a serene blank page. The fresh and easy opening. The good kind of nerves, the optimistic ones that jangle excitedly about being on the brink of discovering something big. Dispirited when I remember it won't turn out as good as I hope. Paralysed by the self-serving dread that the ability to see it out will elude me, and brazenly taunt me from just beyond the reach of my fingertips.

In the end, amounting to the literary equivalent of a fish supper.
