▊"JOHN HOWLETT" is a name 
carved into a gravestone for 
a child. Except the boy wasn't
buried there. 

When he was only twelve in
the year 1897, John's father
threw him down a well; he had
to drown for accidentally hurting
his mother. The lad climbed
out with use of the mutation his
father so despised; bone claws
emerging from between his
knuckles. 

He illegally crossed the border
from Canada to the USA, and 
grew up selling souvernirs in
Washington. Eventually, with
hard work and a little luck, he
made it to medical school. There, 
he became a neurosurgeon, and
swore to never use his mutation
in the public eye again. 

Even in 2019, he still misses his
home. Sometimes he wished he
could've said goodbye to his
infant brother, James, also
currently known as Wolverine.
