Maggie Lynn thought summoning the Devil would be the strangest mistake she ever made.
She was wrong.
What begins as an encounter with Lucifer quickly pulls Maggie into a hidden world of demons, angels, ancient magic, forbidden archives, and secrets buried beneath the foundations of the Capital itself. Lucifer seems unusually interested in her from the moment they meet, and when the demon Azazel is sent to watch over her, Maggie begins to realize there is something about her that neither Heaven nor Hell is willing to explain.
Then the memories begin.
Languages Maggie has never learned feel familiar. Places she has never visited haunt her dreams. Ancient magic responds to her touch, and celestial beings look at her as though they have known her for thousands of years.
The truth is far more impossible than Maggie imagined.
Long before Eve, there was Lilith-the first woman, a soul who defied Adam, challenged Heaven, loved Lucifer before his fall, and became part of an ancient seal protecting Creation itself. Lilith has been dead for millennia, but her soul never disappeared.
It was reincarnated.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Now it belongs to Maggie.
But Maggie refuses to become someone else's memory. She is not a vessel waiting for Lilith to return, and she will not allow Lucifer, Heaven, Hell, or prophecy to decide who she is supposed to be.
Unfortunately, the ancient seals beneath the Capital are beginning to break.
As Heaven prepares to sacrifice Maggie to restore the reincarnation cycle and Lucifer becomes willing to lie, steal, cheat, and wage war to keep her alive, Maggie finds herself at the center of an approaching apocalypse. Even Azazel must decide where his loyalty lies as his feelings for Maggie grow into something far more dangerous than either of them intended.
With Creation collapsing around her, Maggie is offered an impossible choice: die and begin another life, sacrifice someone else in her place, or abandon the mortal cycle forever.
