Once There Lived A Girl
She didn’t want to grow up, maybe that was her problem. She didn’t want to face the world and all it was, the evil that spewed from each and every corner of this seemingly too large world she had been placed in, told of. everything about it felt surreal. She was young, they told her, she didn’t know anything. They were right- she didn’t. But that was the thing, how was she ever to learn things if she was never allowed to learn, experience, and grow?
indoors sat she, quiet and wilting as a flower without light often does, hiding away in her books. You are too pretty, they told her, you will only be objectified by this world if you leave. But however would they know if they never allowed her such privilege?
Again, to the books did she run. Books of wonderful characters, filled of fairies that flew and healed plants and spoke to animals in native tongue. Filled with heroes whom she wished, if but once, would come crashing through her doors from..there.
