[Calum's POV]
"Y/N. Wake up," Calum calls once again. She mumbles something under her breath, but slowly gains consciousness as she opens her eyes and sees him.
"What the hell?" Y/N strains against the hospital bed, causing herself to moan in pain.
But she does have enough strength to growl, "Get out of here!" He can tell she's trying to be strong, but her voice cracks a little and her body scrunches up in pain.
"No," Calum says.
Y/N scowls at him, and says, "I don't want to see you."
"Too bad."
She glares at him, and he glares back, stubborn as ever.
"Don't hang out with that Ashton kid anymore," he tells her.
"I'll hang out with whoever I want to."
"Not when he almost got you killed. He. Is. An. Idiot. Get away from him."
"Are you saying you're a good person to be around? Because I'd rather hang out with an idiot like that than you," she smirks nonchalantly. Calum looks at her. There is no emotion in her voice, and her eyes are blank and cold. The wild strands of her electric blue hair are all over the place, but she doesn't bother to brush them out of her eyes. She's almost unrecognizable to Calum, an utmost stranger.
"God, You've changed," He mutters.
And he's only got himself to blame.
Calum didn't mean it to go this far. He wasn't planning on it. He wasn't being serious when he gave Y/N that list.
She shrugs.
"How were you there when I fell off the roof?"
"I wasn't," Calum replies, confused.
"No. I swear I heard your voice," she whispers.
"You probably missed me too much," he suggests as a joke, but she doesn't smile.
"In your dreams," she replies.
Calum can't hold it back anymore. The way she looked at him was so unfamiliar he could almost cry. Here he was, visiting his best friend for the first time in years, but all he saw in that bed was a once-beautiful girl, wrecked and damaged by the heartbreak he'd caused.
And he realized, he loved her much better before she became...
this.
"Y/N, give me a second chance," he begs. "I'll help you change into the Y/N you used to be."
"And how will you do that?"
"You can break up with Ashton and..."
She glares at him.
"And...
And start dating me."
