Right after Sirius went off with his new girl, Marlene appeared, her face flushed and her eyes bright. I quickly straightened up and walked over to her.

"Thank God I found you, Marlene. I haven't had had anyone to talk to," I said, grinning at her.

"Yeah, well, I found this really hot- hey, wait a second. Why do you have two firewhiskeys? I mean, it's a party, but you have to babysit tomorrow, don't you?" Marlene asked.

"Well, I was just talking to Black, but he left me to go hook up with that girl over there. And he gave me his firewhiskey," I replied, taking a sip out of the bottle that used to be his.

"Oh, okay. That makes more sense," she said, grabbing herself a butterbeer.

"So, what were you saying about a really hot someone?" I asked, shifting my weight.

"OH MY GOD! So, I found this really hot guy over there and we got in a conversation. Then he told me that he's a 4th year Gryffindor. So we're going to 'hang out' at school when we get back," squealed Marlene.

"I jumped up and started clapping excitedly. My dating life was pretty dull, but Marlene always had a boy. It wasn't hard at her and she just wanted to find her guy. She's kinda like a female Sirius, except kinder, didn't go in many broom closets (if you know what I mean), and didn't go through boyfriends as fast.

"What's his name?" I asked, sitting back down.

"His name is Ryan Tucker. He has dark brown hair and gorgeous green eyes. And he's super tall, so you know, that makes a guy like 500 times hotter," gushed Marlene.

"I met a guy too," I said, excitement engulfing me.

This newfound excitement was probably induced by the firewhiskey, but that wasn't important right now.

"What does he look like?" Marlene demanded to know.

"He has light brown hair and brown eyes. And bloody perfect white teeth," I smiled.

We both squealed in excitement. That whole thing about girls squealing? Yeah, it's pretty true with us, but it was very seldom that we were caught squealing in public.

Suddenly, an angry yell interrupted our conversation.

"JAMES POTTER YOU ARROGANT BASTARD! I'M NOT GOING OUT WITH YOU. NOT TODAY, NOT TOMORROW, NOT EVER, AND THAT'S FINAL!" Lily's voice screamed from the middle of the dance floor.

"We'd better go see what's happening," I muttered to Marlene.

"Yeah," she agreed.

We hurried over to where the voices were coming from. Lily was fuming and about to storm off and James was staring at her. I grabbed Lily before she could walk off.
