Two days after Sirius visited, Lily owled me about a possible trip to Diagon Alley the next day. She knew that I hadn't finished my Christmas shopping and neither had she. I replied her letter with a letter, enclosing some Floo Powder so that we could Floo to the Leaky Cauldron. We agreed on leaving at eleven o'clock.

So, the next day at eleven o'clock, I took the Floo Network to the Leaky Cauldron. Actually, I said Diagon Alley, but I always seemed to end up at the Leaky Cauldron. It's where Lily and I were meeting up.

I arrived and quickly looked around. I didn't see the vibrant red hair I always looked for when I wanted Lily. Suddenly, a force slammed into my back.

"Cassio!" Lily squealed, hugging me tightly from behind.

"Lily!" I cried, turning around to hug her.

"Where do you want to go first?" Lily asked, pulling away.

"I need something for Pro- James and Remus, so I guess Florish and Blotts," I replied, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"You're going to get Potter a book?" Lily asked incredulously.

"Maybe, if I can find one he would like," I answered.

We went to the brick wall and I tapped the wall in the correct place. Once the wall allowed us through, we stepped through into Diagon Alley. Then we headed to Florish and Blotts.

I browsed through several books about Dark Creatures until I found one about the kappa. I had noticed him reading a book about kappas one day in the library, so I figured he would like this book. Now I just had to find something for James.

"Lily!" I called, heading over to a section of the store that I knew had good pranking books.

"Yes?" She asked, appearing suddenly behind me.

"I need your wonderful opinion," I said, glancing over the shelves.

I pulled out two books and studied them. I showed the titles to Lily.

"Which would you buy?" I asked casually.

"This one," Lily responded, pointing to a book titled Pranking For Prefects.

"Great!" I enthused, putting it back on the shelf.

"Are you not going to buy it?" Lily asked, sounding slightly offended.

"As much as I love you Lily, you are a prefect and you will do a lot to ensure safety for the other students at Hogwarts. Whatever book you pick will probably be the safer one," I explained, smiling innocently.

Lily sighed and shook her head; but, she followed me to the cash register. She had picked a book out for Marlene, but she had otherwise finished her Christmas shopping. We paid for our purchases and left with some money still left in our purses.
