L.A. is exactly what I thought it would be. There are so many people here that it's overwhelmingly busy. Cars. Everywhere. And suddenly, I no longer have this idea of L.A. being so glamorous. Sure, there are some fabulous places but good Lord... The amount of homeless people and busy life here, the fabulous idea is over shadowed. And this is where my family is from. It's strange to me. To imagine Mia, Jessy, and Mawmaw being here. Especially, without Lex and Chris in their lives.
Oscar takes me to see the Hollywood sign, from a nicer part of town. But when he shows me Mia and Mawmaw's old house I'm more than a little surprised to see how tiny the house is. How not so nice the neighborhood is. Then he drives me to another part of town.
We stop outside a gate. I wonder for a moment if we will be allowed in. Then a security guard comes to his window. Just with Oscar's last name alone, we are allowed in. As we enter the neighborhood, I'm shocked at the size of these houses. There mansions. Enormous homes with stylish car in the driveways. It's unreal.
I had thought Lex and Mia's main house was incredible but these out do it, by far.
With a turn here and a curve there, Oscar pulls in front of another gate. He rolls down his window, pushes a few numbers, and the gates open.
The driveway is long but when he stops in front of the house, all I can do is stare.
It's by far the largest house I've seen so far. And it's absolutely breathtaking.

"This is John's home?" I mutter, not believing what I already know.

"Yeah. Here in L.A."

"This is where Lex grew up?"

Oscar shrugs. "Yeah. Pretty much. They traveled a lot but they mostly lived here."

I stay seated until he comes around to open my door. What the actual hell? Everyone knows that the D'Amore family has money but...this? This is serious money. I step out as the front doors open. A man dressed in a black suite steps up.

"Welcome Mr. D'Amore and Miss Green. May I get your bags for you?"

I blink up at Oscar, who only nods and takes my hand to lead me inside. Holy shit!
The foyer is amazing. The entire place is amazing. More like a museum than a home. I suddenly understand why Lex would want a smaller home. And by no means is his home small but it's much more...cozy. Not nearly so extravagant as this. It took over two hours to tour the home. It was just so huge. But one thing I did notice, was the large portrait of Miranda D'Amore in the office and the ridiculously large rose garden out back. Yep, this is a D'Amore home.
In the suite in the house is the same size as our entire cottage back home. And the bathroom... I nearly passed out when I opened the doors.
After a shower under a rain type systems, hot intense sex in the shower, I'm ready for a nap.
Before I'm able to nap, a knock comes to our door. Since Oscar is still drying off, I answer it to find the same man that met us outside.

"I was wondering if there are any requests for dinner tonight, Miss Green?"

"Please, call me Arabella."

He gives me a kind smile. "Thank you, Miss Green but it is part of my job to greet or address you with the respect due to you."

"Oh," I blink. "Alright. Pizza, I guess." I turn back into the room. "Is pizza alright with you?"

When Oscar nods, i turn back to the man waiting for confirmation.

"I'll call in a pizza. Thank you though," I smile.

"Oh but ma'am... The chef would be so disappointed. She's been excited for days to prepare a meal for Mr. D'Amore's grandson."

"Oh," I say again. "Well, could she whip us up a pizza?"

He nods. "Of course. Whatever either of you wish for. Salad too, perhaps?"

I shrug. "Sure. What ever she wants, I'm sure it will be fine."
