(a/n, I honestly lost track of where I am in the story, but we're gonna skip to the last day of school before Christmas break)

maggie urban.

Christmas break was almost here, and I was beyond excited. Today was the last day, our movie day. Everyone in the school was sprawled out on the gym floor, blankets and pillows everywhere. Teachers were spread throughout the groups of people to make sure no one did something they weren't supposed to do.

I sat on the floor between Mike and Taya, who had Ben on her other side, and Johnny beside him while the two were having a rather loud conversation. My stomach was against the floor, while my non-injured arm kept my head up and on top of me was the fuzzy blanket Mike had got me for Secret Santa. I finally had the sling off, but my shoulder still hurt like hell.

Beside me, Mike laid on his back, his eyes shut and his hand behind his head. Sleepy Mike was adorable. I was still completely shocked that this boy was one of my best friends. It was crazy.

Up on the stage stood Mr. Johns, tapping the top of the microphone over and over again to see if it would work. Suddenly, the gym filled with the loud screeching sound from the microphone. Taya and Johnny placed their hands together, clapping and cheering loudly for the embarrassed teacher up on stage.

I glanced over at Mike who was now awake, smiling at him and laughing. As he sat up, he shook his head and laughed as well. I followed his actions in attempting to sit up too.

"Merry Christmas, everyone," the principal, Mr. Deacon, shouted from beside Mr. Johns. Mr. Deacon wore his usual green and yellow pants, trying to show his school pride like he did for every school event we had in the gym, "as usual, the mic isn't working, so we have to yell, which is no problem for us."

I let out a small groan while jokingly rolling my eyes.

"We also have a special guest for you guys that most of you know, but he's running a little late," Mr. Johns announced.

"Ha!" Johnny shouted in the silent gym. I held back my laughter as he looked around in embarrassment. Mr. Johns rolled his eyes at the immature boy.

"Anyways, I expect you all to act mature.., especially you juniors, with the movie. Up in the front here, we have a photobooth, and popcorn and drinks. If you make a mess, please clean it up," Mr. Deacon begged. Before he could say anything else, I stood up. I loved getting pictures with my friends. I grabbed ahold of Taya and Mikes wrist both and pulled them up from the ground, dragging them to the photo booth with me.

Johnny shortly followed with Ben trailing behind them. Taya and Johnny knew how much I loved getting pictures with them.

The principal continued to talk, but the five of us ignored him. We made it to the photobooth, where two of our classmates who were in the photography classes stood there, one taking pictures and the other handing out pictures out.

Lissa was the girl who was taking the pictures. She was super sweet, and super. But she was a confident bitch that I completely loved. I sent her a smile, heading in front of the backdrop with Taya. The two of us hugged, while getting many silly pictures together.

Next was Mike. Him and Johnny looked at each other nervously, looking around the gym frantically.

"Where is he?" I heard Mike asked Johnny quietly as he walked over to me. I knew there was something going on. Everyone was acting so weird today. Taya acted like she was on the edge, yet excited, and Mike and Johnny both acted like they were searching for someone. They obviously didn't want me to know, so I didn't ask.

Mike turned to me, "can I pick you up, Mags?" I grinned and nodded.

"Just don't drop me and please be gentle with my shoulder," I begged. He chuckled, flashing his pearly white teeth which caused me to smile even more.

"I'll be gentle, I promise," he calmly said. He was right. He picked my up bridal style, gentle as promised. I placed my arms around his neck and placed a small kiss on his cheek. I knew my cheeks were red.

I didn't know why I just did what I just did. He probably knows I'm head over heels for him now, goodness? I heard the camera snap. I quickly pulled away from Mike;s warm face and jumped down with his help.

I looked down at the ground nervously.

"Aw, it's so cute. You two match, too!" Lissa told the two of us. I found my eyes traveling back over to the boy, seeing him wear a black pair of sweatpants and a grey hoodie, while I wore black leggings, and well, a grey hoodie.

I quickly looked back down at the ground again to hide my even redder face.

"The movie is starting," Mike whispered to me. I nodded my head.

"We'll get you the pictures sometime during the movie," Lissa told us. I thanked her before walking back to out spot in the gym with Mike by my side.

By time I got comfortable again, the movie was showing on the screen. I smiled wide and excitedly looked over at Taya.

"Christmas Story is my favorite movie ever!" I whisper shouted to her while she cuddled with her boy friend on the floor, not even bothering to watch the movie. She glanced up at me and smiled before placing her head back onto her boyfriends chest. My smile faded.

I turned my attention back to the movie, bringing my knees to my chest and snacking on my popcorn every once in a while. I cold feel Mike's eye on me, but I ignored it, feeling like I was just imagining it, which I honestly probably was.

When we got to the middle of the movie, Mr. James turned it off so we all could get up and stretch our legs. I laid on the ground, stretching my arms and legs, almost hitting Mike which caused him to laugh at me, which was quite adorable.

This was a great day so far, if I don't say so myself.
